The front bump stops don't leave much room for uptravel as mentioned. I'd suggest front control arm drop brackets and a firmer shock added to the rear sway bar upgrade mentioned would improve the handling to your liking without lowering the Jeep. Our xr got 3.5" lift springs and the bilstein 5100 shock upgrade combined with the control arm drop brackets have it handling better than stock. High speed mountain roads aren't a problem.

well who wouldn't want 35's ! but jeep designed 9inches of clearance from the top of the rear tire to the inner plastic fender liner and 7 inches of clearance in the front. Probably a boon to hard core folks but way overkill for me. they could have fit the 35's with 2 inches lower suspension easily. I am very happy with the vehicle - just looking to lower the center of gravity a bit for a slight handling improvement, otherwise it is the best jeep I have ever owned since my first new one in 1987.
I expect a few more changes other than straight spring swap, but I might first try adding a rear sway bar as suggest in a comment below.
I am pretty confident you won't be able to quantify any improvement in handling other than thinking i spent all this money so yeah it drives better around a chicane. That said, all the magic in dynamic control is built on the ride height from factory, the software may "see" the lowering as a bad thing and start doing things like applying counter braking to stop whatever you may think you're gaining. Remember the wrangler was one of the first with stability control back in the day, for a reason.

But as I always say, you do you.

I highly doubt the system is anywhere nearly that fine tuned or aggressive. The only sensors it has to work off of are wheel speed and steering angle so it's only going to activate once pushed beyond wheel slip. I've never felt it do anything no matter how aggressively I was driving on or off road wether the jeep was stock or lifted. Now granted I've never lowered a Jeep, but as far as quantifiable handling improvements is argue that is easy. Hell a same size tire in a performance summer compound makes a massive difference in handling on any car ever. Not sure you can find 35s in a performance tire but finding a tire that handles better than a KO2 isn't hard at all. Improving control arm angles, improving the soft factory shocks, a side rear sway bar would all make a measurable difference if a professional driver were to compare lap times. It will still be a wrangler, so those times wouldn't be impressive but I guarantee the improvement would be.

Park it in the right lane, set the cruise for the speed limit, strip it down, and enjoy the ride.

Or sell it, get a cheaper jeep and a sports car for your commute.

I would give EiBach a call and talk to the experts there.
They have been in the spring/shock business for a long time. You can’t knock a guy for wanting to do the mods that he thinks will benefit him. How many guys that have thousands sunk into their lift and tires and have never even gone off roading or even down a stone driveway?

I just don’t get why people have to knock a persons choice on what they do to their rides? And the ones who say any color other than their Jeep sucks?
What about to each his own?

I think it has less to do with the idea of lowering it and more that OP paid more to upgrade to the Rubicon X which adds a lift, and now wants to lower it. He could have saved thousands by just buying the regular Rubicon and putting 35s on.

Agreed, maybe there is more to the story than we know like a smokin deal lol
I don`t think that you can use the words Jeep and deal in the same sentence

ok - the follow-up of my original post is in another area on this site (see link below).
First, thanks to the many that offered honest advice and those that had real experience and expertise - you are in the 80% and greatly helped me arrive at a good solution.
To the other 20% of respondents who think everyone must follow their version of what a Jeep must be or who just threw in some sarcastic comments - try to have support for everyone on this site and if you cannot offer something constructive - just avoid the temptation to post your crap responses.
