Here's a spreadsheet I built to calculate gear ratio, tire size, speed, etc. The yellow colored cells are how to control the inputs (either drop-down or number fillable), all other cells are un-editable.

Update: Added a new tab to easily compare differential ratios in top gear. Also some slight changes to the input methods on the other tabs.

11/25/20 Update:
  • Combined the automatic & manual tabs
  • Added an option to input the revolutions/mile
  • When inputting tire diameter, the effective rolling diameter is now calculated at 97.1%.

12/1/20 Update: Added ability to compare two scenarios
12/8/20 Update: Added Axle Torque by Gear calculator

If you are having trouble using the spreadsheet because another user is currently editing it, you can download your own local copy in Excel format:
Jeep Wrangler JL Calculator: gear ratio, tire size, speed, etc. Download

Edit: Looks like the graphs don't convert to Excel anymore. Right now the only way to keep the graphs functioning is to keep it in Google Sheets and copy to your personal Google account:

Jeep Wrangler JL Calculator: gear ratio, tire size, speed, etc. Untitled

This is awesome thank you. Fun to see changes and compare with auto vs. manual.

Dude. This is so good. I was literally going to ask if someone had something like this. Thank you so much!!!! Honestly, seems to explain a lot.

Seriously, thank you for taking the time to do this and to share it!

I made a similar tire size and gear ratio calculator and comparison a while back. I updated it for the JLs and added some instructions. It's very similar to AnnDee4444's, but shows RPMs at speed (instead of vice versa). It also lets you put in different tire and gear configurations you want to compare.

Note that in the preview mode above, the tables show "#N/A" errors. That's by design to make the charts more readable, but Google Docs doesn't display it properly. I recommend you download your own copy to edit, or open it in your browser in Google Sheets. (You can follow the same process AnnDee4444 posted if you want to download a copy.) There are no macros or VBScript - feel free to virus scan it.

Enjoy!

I dont see a link or way to open your spreadsheet.
Have you taken delivery of your Ecodiesel Rubicon? What do you think of it so far?
