So I’m in the process of trying to install the lca from my mopar lift. How did you all get the factory bolts out? Breaker bars. Electric 700lb/ft rated impact. 1/2 air impact. These F@&%€ won’t budge. Anyone got method to remove?

My M18 Milwaukee impact did the job removing. I did the final tightening with torque wrench, placing foot against Jeep and pulling hard.

Electric impact to get off.

Sphincter muscle to get back on and torqued.

You’re on the ground, right? Floor jack on the breaker bar (carefully)

Breaker bar against the floor on one side, breaker bar with floor jack on the other.

I found out using the 700 ftlbs breakway rated impact on only one side did not work. Those bolts need to be held on the other side to come out.

Torquing them back up was easy since I have long torque wrenches - again had the other side wedged against the floor with a breaker bar while torquing.

But yeah, took some trial and error.

Milwaukee M18 here. Honestly I was looking for an excuse to buy it, and a control arm swap was it for me lol. Had them off pretty quick, but I ended up having to hold the nut with an adjustable wrench because I didn’t have the right socket. Whoops.

My impact (700 ft-lbs) Wouldn‘t break the nut loose but when I held the nut with a wrench and put the impact on the bolt, it came right off.

I did something similar when torquing. Box wrench and wedged a chock block so it was pushing against something rubber and removable, not stuck torqued into my garage floor.

I made the mistake of doing my LCA’s without any power tools… purchased an impact immediately after. 140ft/lbs is no joke in either direction, and PB blast was a must

Ok so if I get them off and install the new ones what is the proper ft/lbs to torque them to? I think I read somewhere a while back "as tight as you can get them" on the JL. is that 140 ft/lbs?
