FYI: comparing the shock eye-to-eye lengths at ride height is easier than trying to measure the same spot on the fender.

I've got a steel bumper, hard top JLR and have been debating going a similar route using the parts from a JLUR with steel bumper, hard top and tow for a slight lift. So hard to find JLRs that have gone this route. Lots of Sports with Rubicon suspension. So, if you got 2" from the XR, the "heaviest" JLUR springs may put me at that 1-1.5" lift that I want to be at?.
I'm in the same boat... JLR wanting 1-1.5" lift using factory springs.

What I can't seem to find good info on is if the XR front track bar and sway bar links are any different than the standard Rubicon pieces. All I can find is that Jeep added a relocation bracket for the rear track bar.
I've read that the 392 has different sway bar endlinks, and I would bet it applies to the XR also. My guess is that they base it off of the compressed shock length (or added bump stop), so they should be 1" longer than the typical JL (and probably 1" shorter than the Mopar lift).

Greg, you nailed it!

I have a JLR as well and looking to move from stock to 35s and that's it. That lift looks just right...

I was thinking about 1.5in max trying to keep it low enough not to have to mess with my tow setup behind my Class C RV.

Have you noticed much of a change in mpg?

No change in MPG that I can tell, I'm getting ~22 on the highway (3.6 eTorque). It probably helps being at 5k feet of elevation, which makes the Jeep's 'superior' aerodynamics less of a factor.

We took it offroad for the first time with the new setup this past weekend on a trail called Pole Hill, just outside of Estes Park, CO, which we have driven several times previously. This trail has some fairly big obstacles and I was pretty impressed with the suspension. The extra articulation was noticeable, the ride was smoother and I was able to drive faster overall without upsetting my, uh, "on board speed limiter".

That looks perfect! So perfect that I went out and picked up a XR takeoff suspension today. When you mentioned using the XR lower control arms, did you happen to measure the difference in length vs the stock JL/R LCAs? I’m wondering if I should go straight to the Mopar 2” lift LCAs.

Also, Seems like my set only came with front sway bar links. Did you swap them on all 4 corners?

Edit: crawled underneath and discovered that the LCA part number on my 2022 JLR matches the one from the XR takeoffs.

As you noted, the control arms from the XR takeoff suspension were the same part # as my '21 Rubicon arms, so I ended up not replacing them.

I did get rear sway bar links from the guy I bought the suspension from.

You said something about XR flares, is there a difference between Rubicon flares and XR

XR's have small extensions, primarily to make them legal with the 315/70/17's, but they do help a little with debris coming off the tires.

Some love them, some hate them.

Interesting. I have the 2.5" game changer from MetalCloak and am standing at:

Front: 41 1/2"
Rear: 41 3/4"

I do have the heavy winch and plate up front though. Same tires.
Did either you or #gregeast use wheel spacers after installing the lift/fender flares? Trying to get someone in the know (JLR 2-Door) who has a winch that is doing a 2-inch lift + fender flares with 35’s and whether the tires are even or wider than the flares….? I know it’s a super specific question. My apologies if it’s not relevant here…

No spacers, but my wheels are 0 offset. These tools may help you visualize a bit better:

My wheels are 8.5" wide, 0 offset, 4.75" backspacing. No spacers here either.

With the KO2 315/70/17's the flares cover them.

I was fortunate enough to stumble across a complete takeoff suspension (with 11 whole miles on it) from a new 4-door XR, at a very reasonable price.

My Jeep is a 2021 Rubicon, on 35's (315/70/17 KO2's). I had already added the XR fender flares.

Installed XR shocks, springs, LCA's, sway bar links and MetalCloak bump stops in the front.

Here's a before and after:
Jeep Before and After Lift 2.jpg

I measured from the ground to the bottom of the fender flares

Front Lift: 1 7/8 inches
Rear Lift: 2 inches

So far I'm very happy, my wanna be 2-door XR drives like stock. I wasn't looking for a huge lift, just wanted to compensate for the 35's.
Getting my 35's today.....2-inch lift next week, waiting on flares. Def inspired by this and copying you. Great stuff.

Any idea if a 392 suspension would also work for a 2 door? Or think those would be too stiff?
