Easy to change the limiter. Use a JScan/tazer to tell it you have 20” tires…. Sssshhh, be quiet and it will never know You are goin 135.

I chuckled, but I have considered not recalibrating after getting 35’s to pick up about half of the difference. A little time with speedy pro and I will have the mph difference become automatic, and as an added bonus not rack up warranty mileage as quickly. ?

Tire speed rating + Weight or rig + Surface you are driving + Your appetite for risk

There is always some limit you are breaching with the above parameters when driving at very high speeds sustained. You always risk a tire blowout, topple hitting pothole at high speed, shaking out some bolts, heating up gears and drivetrain trying to haul the jeep's ass at 4000+ rpm just to keep it at 120 mph..

i sold a Miata and got the Jeep. I find myself just slow cruising and enjoying the scenery more.

OT but I, as well, am going from a '21 Miata Club to a '23 Willy's. Loved loved loved the Miata for last 2 summers but it sat for 5 mos a year here in Northern Ohio. We have a Lake house about 90min away and reason #2 was just the lack of room for our stuff. The Jeep is gonna cure those two issues. This is not my 1st Jeep, gotta tattoo of Eugene 35 years ago ? cheers ?

Made me think of this.

She will go 60 MPH in the.left lane, on the Autobahn. Seen it more than once, years back. It scared that crap out of me. Mercedes, Audi's, and Porsches blaring their horns, as they pass us going 100+++ mph.

The build sheet (not window sticker) for my '21 Willys has a line that says:

"97 mph Vehicle Max Speed Calibration"

Maybe your window sticker would have a similar line item?

59% of the build sheets say 110mph and 41% say 97mph. My first thought was 2-door vs. 4-door, but there's only 13% that are 2-door.

If you are up over 90mph you will get some seriously bad gas mileage. Get up over 80 and the mpg gets really bad. Unless it is life and death, I do not ever see myself going 97 mph in a Jeep...

I heard it was tires (MT's with the lower speed calibration vs others) but I don't remember where I heard it.
