  1. Best engine for intended purpose

this has been clarified in numerous threads.. its always a hybrid. In trail runs when you have max-regen on, you invariably end up putting more charge into the battery with all the high rpm-slow-movement plus the braking needed to coast downhill sections. The only time it can truly exhaust out...
  2. Best engine for intended purpose

most folks on the forum don't like the 4xe for the complexity (more parts/mechanisms means more failures), and the weight. But, they are still wranglers through and through when off-road. Put them on e-save (forced use of gas + electric) and you will see how much torque you have at your...
  3. What did you do WITH your Jeep today.

I do not turn on the headlights on night runs (if its slow rocky trails). They are sooooo blinding and hurts my eyes for days after the trail run. Additionally the blinding white LED light makes the terrain look all flat and there is no sense of depth perception and variations in height (on the...
  4. GrayWolf 2.0 🐺 | 2024 4xe Rubicon - Build Thread

Yep they provided that as part of the bumper. @Rival 4x4 also provides a wire harness extension with solder pins to extend out the stock license plate light to reach that far. Well thought out and super clear instructions.
  5. Rear bumper full width/full wrap around suggestions?

I went with the @Rival 4x4 full-width aluminum bumper. it wraps around the tub and does it at an angle to provide best clearance on the corners. I love how it looks well coordinated with the JL design and matches my Venator front bumper too. I just tested in on the trail where my stock plastic...
  6. What did you do WITH your Jeep today.

Its been hard to find time for wheeling.. I had 1.5 hours time yesterday in between errands and kids class pickups - off I went to the nearest trail, just did half the trail and came back :D The @Rival 4x4 full width rear bumper clears the rock ledges where my stock plastic bumper kisses rocks...

  8. AccuAir Suspension on '24 4xe Rubicon - I want to take it off. AMA

@brandtam weight profile of 4xe is not something they would have tested on.. I bet that is part of the problem.. I would assume it was super stiff on road and excessive body-roll i.e. not so smooth flexing off-road?
  9. My Jeep hates gas pumps

I have trouble getting it to fill >80% at one go. I have let it auto stop then use the "listen to the gurgle" method till it seems its its reached the top. What does the second press of that button do apart from opening the door?
  10. Favorite Off-Road Photo - Post Yours 🤳

Not much of a crawler, so these are my favs from my off-road trips From my prev jeep: on my current one:
  11. Fox Shocks Question

you have a gas 2-door JL. I would suggest doign the 2.0 IFP Fox shocks. It compliments the stiffer (higher spring rates) clayton coils. I ran that combo on a 3.6 vs JLU sahara. Very plush ride with the 1.5" coils.
  12. A Primer on JL Suspension and Steering

Fantastic idea! thank you for compiling this Matt 🫡 On the wheel specs, its best to also add in the dimension/width. Offset is a funky reference that changes with the wheel width. Backspacing is more consistent but not easily understandable 🤷‍♂️
  13. BFG All Terrain T/A K02 sold at Costco

The lightest AT4W is 68.5lb - C rated 35x11.5r17 BFG KO2 C-Rated 37s are 64lb per tire - for comparison. In the pursuit of tire longevity and 3-ply sidewalls, most LT tires have become extremely heavy over the years. Falken and Mickeys are so heavy that they feel like pushing you to re-gear...
  14. BFG All Terrain T/A K02 sold at Costco

Duratracs are not quiet. Toyo OC AT3s are awesome tires but slightly more hum than KO2. You might want to consider the Falken AT4W in the C-range sizes or the Mickey Baja Boss AT
  15. Calculator: gear ratio, tire size, speed, etc.

Very cool.. this explains why a light 37 tire on my 4.10 geared 4xe feels much peppier than my previous 3.6 v6 jeep on 35s and 4.56 gears. I did not feel that I would need regear even if I ran a heavy 37.
  16. What did you do TO your Jeep JL today?

The sensors are working properly. Actually they are working as intended now !! - with stock bumper after the large tire upgrade I was getting false alarms all the time and the system would disable the sensors often. I dont have that problem with this bumper - it only senses the proper obstacles...
  17. Rough Ride

22" wheels + a suspension thats known to not have a plush ride = rough ride
  18. What did you do TO your Jeep JL today?

The corner clearance is actually way better compared to stock. I had a lot of hits on the stick bumper corner at the bottom. The corners are swept upwards very sharp angle
  19. What did you do TO your Jeep JL today?

i didnt get any warning or code.. but haven't seen them beep. A lil worried if they are not working OR the overly sensitive false alarms from the stock bumper arent happening anymore.. ill drive around and see if I get any other beeps. moving the sensors is the hardest part.. there are like...
