Regarding crawl ratios: while a clutch can be slipped to achieve higher (slower) crawl ratios at the expense of clutch wear, the torque converter is designed to allow typically around 2.5:1 reduction ratio in addition to transmission/transfer case/differential. Even though the manual drivetrain claims a higher crawl ratio, it's not factoring in everything from the engine back.
