This is fine and Jeep doesn’t have to respond because it has proven to be excellent off-road and is the king. However, everyone keeps forgetting about a huge majority of buyers who just buy because they “want” and off-road “capable” vehicle, they don’t need it to be the BEST one. Not saying which is best or not, but Jeep should respond with something if they want to keep the these buyers interested.
Those owners you speak of don't want an "offroading vehicle". They want a Jeep. You guys keep bringing up what makes sense for most buyers ignoring that people mostly buy a name and because of brand recognition more than anything. Wranglers specifically are bought because they don't make sense and are opposite of almost everything on the road.

Thank God....someone who actually reads the WHOLE wording in context and understands that my comment wasn't an attack on them personally!!! :like:

Kudos to you, my friend. :) You are a rare intellect indeed.
So than you'd agree with me in thinking of how sad it is to deserve a trophy and a pat on the head, just for simply making it through a sentence without skinning one's knee?

Scanning what's written and selective hearing of what's told does not spell a successful conversation.

Kudos to you as well, for blipping the radar. Lol

Come on, man, this is the internet. Enough of that. Can we all just get back to hearing what we want, please? <insert whatever smiley face conveys sarcasm>
One of the many things I've learned in the last 2.5ish years, is that the Jeep community consists of a higher number of thinkers than most others. Surely, a brief detour into some deeper, non Jeep territory can be tolerated now and then.

So, what does the left slide wheel next to the headlight switch control? Lol

Now that's funny! Thanks, it's been too long since I've had the pleasure of coffee coming out of my nose!

Good catch. This means the JLUR in the video actually had a greater departure angle than the Bronco... yet that was what the commentator was criticizing.

I think I read somewhere that the Sasquatch package has limited articulation when compared to the stock suspension, likely due to taller bump stops. Because of this, to me it seems like the Sasquatch's true competitor isn't the JLUR, it's the JLUR with the Mopar lift (and 35s... to keep it fair).

You didnt update breakover, and I never even thought of approach and departure, so good catch on your part.

I've only been able to find breakover numbers for the base & super-duper sasquatch package. I could calculate them for the smaller tire options, but I think my original point was made (that the JL had a greater departure angle, yet that is exactly what the commentator of the video was criticizing... meaning it was never meant to be a true comparison between the Bronco & JL).

When would you not buy the "best" of something if it were approximately the same price as the "lesser" product?

I think what you mean is: a huge number (not majority, necessarily) of buyers want something that is offroad capable but don't need the level the Rubicon offers or put other things (like ride quality and electronic features or perceived differences in quality, etc.) ahead of offroad performance.
Sure, yours is worded well. But, specifically what I mean is both of these vehicles are more than enough for most buyers (as I've been saying all along). Now the Bronco is a very real alternative to a Wrangler and whether or not it's better, worse or just as capable in stock form as a Rubicon or Wrangler (different trims of Bronco too...we don't need to list them all) remains to be seen. And even at that, if the Rubicon is best at ______ then that's great. I'm sure the Bronco will be better at ______.

Everyone here is somewhat an enthusiast so we're all picking both apart, but bottom line is most people are gonna buy either, whichever one they like best. Doesn't matter that one is better than the other at ______.

lol...maybe that makes sense...

interestingly enough...there's some option called "high clearance" suspension on the Badlands. I don't believe anyone has specified what that is yet. So that will be another row in your chart :)

This thread is tiring me out. lol. There's more responses here about the Bronco encroaching Jeep territory than notifications from the Bronco forum lol

I found some calculators: https://www.vcalc.com/wiki/KurtHeckman/Breakover+angle & https://www.vcalc.com/wiki/KurtHeckman/Approach+(departure)+angle

If my numbers are correct, a JLUR with Mopar lift & 35s will be equal or better than a Sasquatch in all categories listed below.
Bronco 4-door Sasquatch 35sBronco Base
JLUR Mopar 37s
JLUR Mopar 35sJLUR 35sJLURJLU Sport
Wheelbase116.1116.1118.4118.4118.4118.4118.4
Approach43.23543.941.4
Departure37.029.737.036.1
Breakover26.32030.028.224.522.620.3
Ground Clearance11.58.312.811.811.810.89.7
Calculated frame clearance13.5510.2515.8514.8512.8511.8510.6

Also for fun I charted out how suspension & tire height increases change the breakover angle. This does not account for the distance between the tires changing (which would also have an effect on breakover), but It's close enough for now.

Example: a 2" lift on 35" tires would be +3" (because the 35" tire is only 1" greater in radius)
Jeep Wrangler JL Bronco vs Jeep Wrangler mega thread Breakover Angle vs. Rubicon Lift

It's not linear, but for every inch the:
  • 2-door gains roughly 2.2° of breakover angle
  • 4-door gains roughly 1.8° of breakover angle
  • Gladiator gains roughly 1.6° of breakover angle

And there you have it, folks. Pack this puppy up, it's done. @Notorious watched a TikTok video (a "quick" one, even), and has passed judgment.
Yes yes.

This tiktok video is the smoking gun: it will shine the light, bring you to your knees, increase your penis size and christen light upon on your blackened face and naked buttocks. Emphasis mine on naked.

For now, my judgement is final and the Lord says, “Vengeance is mine.” This court is adjourned and you are all dismissed. This court and your community thank you for your commitment to serving as part of this Jury.
