If you do not off road. Then no point. I do not bang my 56k Willis in the big rocks or mud either. I love the forestry service roads. Getting up above the tree line. Beaches. No abuse really on the Jeep but I have to get off pavement so it’s a must.

Wrangler 2-door sounds more and more like the right ticket.

Full disclosure - I looked up Bronco 2-door. While I hate a lot of the Bronco, including the wobbly windows and the looks of the 4-door, I do like the looks of the 2-door. I think Ford got the proportions right. But the prices are insane. Bronco 2-door makes Wrangler 2-door look like deal of the century!
Added dealer markup makes it expensive? When I was cross-shopping my 2-door with theirs, the MSRP pricing seemed a lot more reasonable than the Wrangler given similar options.

2-door Big Bend with the Ecoboost v6 looks fun, as does the 2-door LR Defender 90 with the P400 engine. Both have a lot more torque than either of Jeep's standard offerings and iirc, the fuel economy numbers are comparable. 2-door Sahara or Rubi with the new Hurricane S.O. engine would be perfect if such a thing existed.

I was thinking yesterday if there was any other vehicle I would want instead of my Jeep. Although I could confidently say "no", If there was no other option but to give up the Jeep (or to buy instead of the Jeep), the Ineos Grenadier is the only vehicle I would pick personally. I have not been in one yet, but from what I am seeing I think it would provide the smile factor still.

Jeep renegade...my wife loves hers and I like it too!.....
My brother had a terrible experience with their 2015 Renegade Trailhawk. They loved how it drove; the thing was built like a tank! But it was in the shop every other week —infotainment, miscellaneous electronics, PCM, window regulators, door seals, etc. The 9-speed transmission finally died one week after the warranty ended. Because it is a seal unit it can not be repaired. They raise such a stink that the dealer gave them equivalent of 50% the price of a 2019 Compass, provided they quieted down and left the premises.

The Compass has been trouble-free, but they don’t really love driving it like they did the Renegade.

I’ve heard subsequent model-year Renegades are solid.

If I were to do Renegade, I’d go with the Fiat 500X: it’s identical to Renegade underneath; the Fiat looks better inside and out IMO; dealers are more willing to discount the 500X, and Fiats come standard with a 4 year bumper-to-bumper warranty in the US.

In my particular case, my Jeep dealer is also my Fiat dealer. So dealer availability would make no difference.

Just keep it. In comparison to what's coming, you'll look back one day and realize it was a much better Jeep than it appears presently. I dont think anything new will be overall better, and has potential to be less desirable.

Anyway, that's my reasoning for keeping mine.

There is always the Compass Trackhawk - now with the same 2.0T I4 as the Wrangler (just different tune) - since you like Fiat gear :)
Hadn’t heard! I’m gonna have to check it out!

Knowing Jeep, though, they’ll want $55,000 for a freaking Compass...! ?

I actually agree with that. Constantly.

I don’t know. Perhaps. I went on cars.com, did a 500-mile radius search, about a dozen 2-door Broncos popped up; every single one was $60,000 to $70,000. No matter the trim. Pfft...

I didn’t bother clicking on any of them. Those prices are nuts.

I agree with this 100%.

@aldo98229, I contemplated selling my 04 TJ after the JK's came to market in 07 for the added creature comforts and upgrades to the Rubicon trim. Long story short, I didn't. Looking back, it would have been one of my biggest regrets.

However, I really like the suggestion of trading down to a 2 door on 33's with stock everything.

Just don't get a Bronco Sport................please.

I can honestly say that I will never sell this Jeep.

Do they sell the wildtrak in the US?
It's not at stupidly priced as the raptor and more capable as a "truck", and more comfortable to drive than a Jeep, by far.
Though, unless you have a good water tight cover, having a truck as your main car kind of sucks.
Just about everything out there these days is priced in ultra lux car pricing from 10 years ago.

Subarus are pretty ugly, but in my experience they are fantastic cars.

What about more specialized cars for each job? I like the 2dr basic jeep idea, and you haven't mentioned needing more practicality. The fiat's a blast. I got the test drive the Abarth version, makes silly fun noises. I have my old CRX as the cheap fun car (just took it to autocross for the first time last week). The Jeep is for camping / off road with the family, and Mazda6 is for comfort / normal car.

I had a modified 2dr TJ, sold it and was sad I didnt have it anymore for a long time even if it had become a pos for sitting for too long etc. Got other vehicles in between, had a deer hit my small pickup a few years back and had a jeep 4dr loaner, drove it for a week, fell in love again but not with the 4 dr cause I knew it didn't feel like my old one (not maneuverable, power was good but you felt it was a heavier vehicle, turning radius was meh).

The vision that was planted years ago in my brain still remained....

I missed my old 2dr, I test drove one and realized that the 4dr is a different beast even if its a jeep and my first thoughts where my old memories of easy U-turns, easy parking spots, etc. I think a 2dr kept stock could be something that might be a "best fit" for you, but only you can know that so I would suggest test driving one.

Yes. Downsizing to a 2-door Wrangler has crossed my mind!
I loved my Spider, but after a tractor trailer came close to squashing me I went to my Jeep?. Spider was a ton of fun though. The 2dr Jeep has a lot of the nimbleness, but sits nice and high, and it’s bright red, so hopefully the truck guys SEE it?. I’ve had 4wd’s for ever and would be lost without one. My Ram is great, but just too big off the pavement.
