  1. Early JL owners (18-19), a question please about your rigs reliability so far

2018 Sport S auto with 3.6. Have approx 197000km on it, been mostly flawless, only changed radiator at approx 110000km for maintenance, just did the balljoint upgrade recently and upgraded the steering stabiliser. Running rubicon suspension and shocks since 5000k and the shocks are getting worn...

I replaced my rad that started slowly leaking at the plastic sidetank/aluminium connection when i had about 110000km on it, been fine since then and i’m at 194000 km.
  3. Synthetic rope conversion

Make sure you check the drum or fairlead/rollers for possible steel rope marks if any (usually more present on older well worn drums) and damage from the steel cable just to make sure you don't have any burrs/edges that could cut your new rope when its rubbing on the drum or sides of the drum...
  4. I need new tires. Opinions on a couple of brands of tires.

Another vote for the Toyo here. I have been Running 285/75/17 Toyo Open Country AT III at the moment, I have about 90000 kms on them and they're showing their wear but I would say I have at least another 10k-15k km left of life but I'm shopping for a new pair for late fall/winter. Been...
  5. Bikini Pearl

Mine can look greenish depending on lighting, the camera its taken on and the software used for editing. Just remember this is a Pearlcoat so there will be variation of coloring on lighting effects. Like everyone mentioned, if its the same code and the company said it was a re-launch of that...
  6. Hydrogen engines in the future?

I do think they are a smaller portion of the pollution problem , I don't have the answer to the other questions but do believe that if you know you can't attack large polluters rapidly because of too many impacts be it worldwide economy hits, problem with laws etc etc, then they are probably...
  7. Hydrogen engines in the future?

The reason hydrogen is being evaluated is purely fir a way to be able to reduce emissions. Right now, at the speed the planet is going, they’re trying to find ways to reduce emissions in everything they can and that includes cars so the hydrogen car was designed. Your not gonna see lots of...
  8. Cabin air filter changes needed frequently?

I just changed mine at 150000km, i mean it wasnt white but didnt seem that bad maybe i’ll change them every 100000 to improve a bit but vents do work better though it seems…😂
  9. Advice on Hood/Bug deflectors or what ever they're called....?

The damage to paint is inherant to the types of bug deflectirs that touches the surfaces. Some models and brands don’t touch the surface, they are attached underneath and the rigid material curves around the body line at a safe distance. i have the weathertech bug deflector and i like it, never...
  10. How do you stop the Seat Belt Slap Slap Slap?

I originally tried to use them on the softop but couldn't figure out how since they were too short to go around the bars...🤷‍♂️...but they fit the seatbelt bars perfectly
  11. How do you stop the Seat Belt Slap Slap Slap?

Mine came from the dealership with two velcro straps for this purpose so i put them in at the beginning of summer and forget about them most the times.
  12. Two door itch is real

Heart of Wealth or Wealth of Heart...;)
  13. Who has 30K miles or more on their JL and hasn't had any problems?

2019, 3.6 automatic and 92000 Miles here and only had to change the Radiator because it had sprung a leak. still on OEM brake pads, original battery (I bypassed the secondary a year ago).
  14. How do you use your 2-door back seat?

Now to get back to topic, I also had the same issue that Jay reported on the wires loosening and not being able to take flip the seat and/or take it out altogether,. Mine actually fixed itself when I pounded on the bench with a soft hammer. I still use it for winter and just flip it when needed...
  15. How do you use your 2-door back seat?

  17. Dimensions of 2dr soft top and advice on transporting

I bought a used one and hauled it inside my 2dr . It was tricky fitting it but if you manage to twist and turn in between the front seat, you can have one part of the metal rods and mechanism in the front seat while the rest is in the rear. Its not ideal, but thats how I managed to fit it in to...
  18. RCV Axles and Joints - How do I get the Axle out of the Joint???

Get yourself a good « Lead » or at the very least « copper » heavy weight mallet. The softer material will help prevent dents into the steel as you hit it and the mallet will take the hit instead. Its all about « mass » when you hit it so those help for situations like these.
  19. Supercharger for 2022+ 3.6L

First off welcome to the forums. Then I'll just say this: I would start with some small mods instead of looking into a supercharger. You might be surprised what little more HP can do on a lighter 2 dr with a good tuner combined with a few other mods and you could find yourself just happy enough...
  20. Death Wobble with no lift kit, wide tires etc

I'll second balljoints since it seems to be the only thing they didn't check although you did say they checked steering and alignement which you'd think they would see it there if it was balljoints. if everything is ok as they say, then its something else but it HAS to be something worn, DW...
