I've seen window stickers with the credit and it's normally the last item listed.
It's a standard feature that the factory couldn't install (almost certainly because if the ongoing chip shortage) so they issued a credit for the missing feature. Ford is doing the same thing with navigation. They are shipping vehicles without that feature and issuing a credit.
How can I make sure this doesn't happen to me?
In other words: What should I (and other buyers) be looking for on the build sheet and/or window sticker to see if any standard/expected options have been deleted or substituted?
I know about my added options, but I don't know if I necessarily would have thought to check for things which were included as part of the "trim." (Although now I probably will!)

There should be a credit listed on the window sticker for any standard feature or ordered option(ie floor mats) that was not installed (DELETED).

CHANGES to standard features are different though. There were recently changes made to the trim rings on the XR wheels (10 bolt design in place of the original 25 bolt) and the cloth seats in the Rubi (map pocket in place of the Molle panel). In cases such as these, it's at the discretion of Jeep. There is a disclaimer on every POC that states there may be changes to features on the original build order.

... Still exercising the transfer case shifter trying to get it broken in. Really stiff to the point I was afraid I'd break something when shifting.
On my ordered '21 Hella Sport the case was unbelievably stiff. Like you, I was confident I was going to break something getting it to shift, it was that tight. I only had my '21 Hella for 3 months before I sold it to Carvana.

On my ordered '22 Hydro Sport S the case shifts like one would expect, stiff because it is brand new, but otherwise relatively smooth.

Many people insist that it'll get more usable as it gets used. After 18 months and tons of trails my last one never got anywhere near as smooth as my current one started. Not even close.

I'm about three weeks into getting my 2023 Wrangler Sport set up for flat towing behind my RV. Compared to what I went through with my 2014 Wrangler Sport, it's just one thing after another.

In my new owner's packet was the Sirius XM brochure with instructions for setting up your service. I cancelled the service on my old Jeep and went into the Uconnect to get the serial number so I could activate Sirius XM in the new Jeep. Only problem is, the base radio in the Wrangler Sport is not Sirius XM ready. One of the things I checked when I looked at the window sticker was if it was Sirius XM ready. There in the list of standard features was Sirius XM Guardian Connected Services Free Trial available. If it's got the upgraded version, it must be Sirius XM ready, right? Actually, no. After way too much time digging, I found an entry under the Options section of the window sticker: Connected Services delete credit. I was sandbagged by the dealer! They ordered this thing with the automatic transmission and tinted windows but kept the cheap-a$$ radio for some reason. Retrofit kit from VaisTech is $349.99 plus installation. And yes, I know about using the Media USB to connect my iPhone and the Sirius XM app.
My next surprise came when I was setting up my electric auxiliary brake required for flat towing. In their infinite wisdom, Jeep has deleted the constant 12V auxiliary outlet I had in the center console of the 2014 Wrangler that I could use to power the brake with the ignition off. I'll be having the car audio guy install an additional constant 12V auxiliary outlet for the brake.

Jeep sure picks some interesting ways to save money.
SXM radio is different the XM connected services even without the delete

Are those (usually? always?) at the customers' requests, or because of supply "issues?"
I assume that it's all due to supply constraints.

I'd like to know what the Surround View Camera (the other deletion credit) is.

But, actually:

I have no idea which, if any, Wranglers have this as a possibility/standard equipment.

Dang. Was really hoping Jeep's SurroundView was something a lot cooler and more like the magical wizardry of LR's 3D Surround system and ClearSight Ground View..

So many cameras, so many distractions. One wonders when the OEMs will stop wasting time and simply replace the windshield glass with a giant touchscreen.

Unfortunately the only place it exists on build sheets is those two delete credits.
