After changing the trackbar, draglink, and tierod with Steersmarts, I drove around without a steering damper for a week or so, including highways. Never had so much as a shimmy. They updated the steering stabilizer, trackbar and steering box. most folks $hitcan the stabilizer for after market like a Falcon and upgrade the track bar to a Steer Smarts.
Both of Mine never had an issue but had the updates done and replaced the stabilizers and track bars
Speed is the key. After all of the JL Steering update, which should be already on the 2021's, a low percentage of the owners are still having steering issues. The best thing to do when you buy one, or take delivery from a order, is to drive it over bumps and at highway speeds, before one signs the final papers.
I'm so sorry you've had this happen.I have 6973 miles on my 2021 jlu and as of yesterday hitting a bump on the highway at any speed above 67 mph invokes the deadly wobble…we had to turn around from a trip we were on because it got so bad. So no, it’s not resolved in the 2021. It goes to the dealer on Wednesday….
Looking at the latest update to the "Steering Feel" TSB, now TSB 08-003-21 REVA, dated 11/20/2021.. I would say nope!I’ve seen a few posts from 2020 regarding known steering issues, any sense that these have been addressed by FCA in the newer models?
What did they do to fix it?Speed is the key.
Dealer drove ours at 40 km per hour. Said no problem....
Said It' a Jeep Thing.
Went to another dealer. Fixed it.
