anybody got any experience with the rock hard 4x4 sport cage upgrades? https://www.rockhard4x4.com/product_p/rh-90700.htm

I heard they don’t really do much & I’m unsure as to what options I have to enhance the safety of the vehicle in the event of a rollover. Also, I read on their site that a solid roll-cage welded on is counter intuitive because it negates the factory crumple zones… but I don’t really believe this 100%

Further, I’m wondering if anyone knows of a way to make the JLU into something that is capable of taking multiple rollovers - rather than the one and done as it is now - id love to hear what others are running

No insight on the RH offering but normally a cage is a custom thing. There are a few builds in the build section that guys have done.

I had a RH cage in my JKUR. I feel it was "enough" for the wheeling I was doing. I feel it would aid in a rollover, but nothing more extreme. It did look cool, I'll give it that. To my understanding the JL cage is just as strong as the JK would have been with the RH cage. I don't think I'll be adding it to my JLUR though. I still toss it around but honestly, more for looks and it doesn't look as good.

Secretly, I want the B-pillar delete and a Genright cage. Now that is some protection and just stupid cool.

Did the RH cage reduce your visibility in any way?

how much do these weigh?

seems like it would have to raise the Center of Gravity, thereby actually making it *more* likely to roll in the first place.

A little bit of everything, from dunes to rock crawling to mudding
I looked at their cross bar that goes behind the front seats. It would be nice if going to a full harness seat and belt system. Mas money. I wheel hard, but not that hard. LOL

I’m of the belief that the factory setup is sufficient for anything you should be doing with a vehicle that isn’t built specifically for off-road use.

I know this is an old thread, but I recently got to see the stock JLU roll cage up close. I am having the Genright roll cage installed and my fabricator cut out the stock one. He referred to it as "paper thin". It is pretty thin and bends easily. I was honestly super surprised by that! So many had told me the stock JL cage was "stronger than the JK and strong enough" for wheeling. I believe it is definitely not. I wheel often but it really only takes one wrong move and you're rolling. The Genright cage is a feat of engineering and the installation is no joke! My Fab guy is wonderful but it's taken him a full week of hard work. I am so excited to get it back and will share photos. I just wanted to share that info. No one told me what the stock cage was really like.

Saw that Lite Brite's factory roll cage was cracked on the rear hoop in a couple of places. They'll be upgrading soon.
