My new scissor jack setup

That is the first adaptor I tried with the HMMWV jack and it was just too wide for the jacking points on the front axle (see discussion about "AO adaptor" in my posts above).

OK...here's my last update on this unnecessarily long jack saga! Since the Safe Jack pad was a little loose on the ram, I found a 1" diameter copper sleeve at Lowe's, cut about 1/2" off of it and slid it right over the ram. Fits nice and snug on the ram, but a little looser inside the jack pad receiver, allowing it to swivel freely...not sloppily like it was before. Granted, I could have accomplished the same thing with a little duct tape, but the copper sleeve is more durable, less chintzy, and won't melt goopy sticky stuff when my jack sits inside a 200-degree vehicle.

Not sure this will help anyone, but it's possible to fit the 6-ton Torin Big Red in the cubby with the OEM scissor jack & all tools.

Just don't make this a daily storage location for the jack, as the hydraulic fluid will eventually seep out. Should be OK for a few days at a time if you're out overlanding/camping, but not good to store most bottle jacks like this for extended periods. There are several threads about this elsewhere in the forums, but just wanted to bring it to your attention. Enjoy and happy Jeepin'!

In case the video doesn’t play. The pics show the 6 ton bottle jack in the cubby and the cubby cover secured in place without bulging or being pushed up by the jack.

What I want to know is how people can have a jeep that clean! Haha, I open that and I have to dig out a couple handfuls of rocks and mud

Yeah, that bottle jack really would be ideal for the space it takes up and the great amount of travel. Definitely interested as well

Just got home and quickly ran into the garage to measure. 18" at full extension with the adaptor.

My current rv scissor is a 7500 lb 24". I'll Probably stick with it.

I am not a fan of the OEM scissor, but am also not a fan of having hydraulic fluid leaking in my spaces. Is that really a good idea to store that bad boy on its side? I like the solution, just leery about leaks.

if fluid leak is a concern, Torin has one of these specific 6 ton models which is rated to be used horizontally

I will probably order up the following heavy-duty scissor jack from Agile Offroad:

But I'll also have to order the Safe Jack axle adapter mentioned above for the tight space at the front axle, and add the sleeve as well. Too bad Agile Offroad didn't think of that.

The only thing is it looks like the shaft of the AO adapter may be too short for the SJ adapter.
