I like that setup!
Yeah.. I like it because it is easy to install and remove.. I carry it with a chain and a padlock to prevent lowlifes from stealing my expensive RotoPax tanks.. LOL

You need to take the additional weight of the gas tanks into consideration... in my case I carry 2 x 3.5 Gallon tanks for a total of 7 gallons..

7 gallons x 6 pounds per gallon + mounting brackets + EZ Rack Kit = 60 pounds

in my case, 60 pounds is a lot considering my spare tire weights 143 pounds... so my
bumper / tailgate combo has to support about 200 pounds

I've got a two-door JL whos being modded for Overlanding and I need some extra fuel. The most common way I've seen is something off the spare tire but with the backup camera, it gets complicated. Please share your opinions, mods, or different solutions. Pictures of your mods are more than welcome.
IMHO gasoline belongs on a roof rack or on a device that positions it at the left rear window.

People will disagree but there is just something wrong IMHO about putting cans near your driver's door or in the rear. Both leave your safety up to another driver paying attention to the road, and nothing like (if there's a collision) dripping gas or a fire in the former case at your point of egress.

That said, I also want to talk about venting. Either open your tanks daily to relieve pressure or do one of these:

Don’t actually carry gas in the jerry can; just part of my Jeep’s ā€œ1941ā€ uniform.

Looks awesome.
But did you sacrifice the rearview camera?
