That is when I stopped reading your post..
I AM KIDDING MAN !!... yeah... yours are all valid points.. I was never a fan of the little motorcycle JL AUX battery (my friend has a Harley Trike, and the battery in her trike is bigger than the AUX Battery in the JL... What the heck?)...
You are correct... and I wouldn't install any of those fancy drain plug systems unless you have a skid as they stick out more and would be more prone to damage on the trail... potentially causing loss of oil and well.. you know how that goes..
I would not spend money on a new pan... but rather a skid.. whatever you were doing when you crushed that pan is going to happen again.. and perhaps you are not going to be that lucky next time, especially without a skid.
LOL... I understand... I installed this drain system in my JL.... now my oil changes are super clean... no spilled oil anywhere... the used oil goes directly into an empty container of the previously used oil... so no need to use those nasty oil drain pans.. and, no need to be afraid of...
Where are you ordeting them? Which webpage? Or via phone?
I never got the axles. As the guys behind the dstrac axles here in the USA were scammers... I was able to get my money back after I filed a dispute with the credit card company..
Right now I am in the initial stages of fabricating my...
They also offer the 6 piston version.. it is unclear if the price is for one unit.. or for both wheels..

Got it, thanks.!... I just found this kit while searching online... it seems to have provision for both patterns, so you simply install the lugs in the appropriate pattern based on your wheels.. however the description of the kit does not mention wheel patterns...
Curious... how is your buddy adapting his Super 60 to 8x6.5 ?? a different bearing hub?... spacer ? is he/she drilling the hub/rotor with a jig to 8x6.5 ? I am in the same situation... I started working on a junkyard Dana 60 / 14 bolt combo, I am in the initial stages of cutting off the...
Yeah.. I am leaning towards 8x6.5 since that is as you said more popular on the trails and also has a better selection of beadlocks.. and in case of an emergency on the trail, it is more likely to be able to share an 8x6.5 wheel than an 8x170 ... :-)
I was just curious about it... LOL
Thanks!
Hey fellas,
For the ones who have gone with 1 tons / 8 bolt pattern, which wheel pattern did you
choose and why? 8x6.5 (8x165.1) or 8x6.5 ??
Which 8-lug pattern do you think is more popular on the trail among other fellow Jeepers?
Thanks!
Your main battery is most likely damaged at such low voltage... if you have the Auxiliary battery I suggest you disconnect / disable (there are a few threads in this forum, and here is what I think is the simplest way to do it)...
