I put RCV shafts in mine. It's a lot smoother in tight turns in 4WD then with the stock u-joints. Not so jerky.

What all is involved with changing over to CV joints?

Are you sure you want to introduce a weak spot into your Jeep? They can be easily destroyed by a branch.

Gotta pull the unit bearings off and pull the shafts. Then reassemble.

If you have the FAD (front axle disconnect) there are a few more moving parts to deal with. And you have to choose whether to bypass that or not when you buy the parts.

My 21 Rubicon had CVs. I broke one on the trail. Jeep covered it under warranty. Now I am running DS Cro Mo shafts with 1410 U-joints. The originals are in my shed for spares. I figure if I keep them I will never need them.

I do not have 4-wheel drive auto. I have the part-time 4WD. I noticed that my 2024 Willys has CV joints. I had not seen that on a wrangler before.

I did read that the full-time system had the CV joints.

Same here, I took delivery last week on my 24 Willys, Command track part-time 4wd and CV joints.

A benefit of CV joints in the axle that people often overlook is they maintain full strength when turned sharp while traditional u-joints only have full strength when the wheels are pointed straight ahead.
