I mean didn’t jeep also say something to that nature about shoe-horning a hemi into the jeep engine bay? I know the hurricane design, 2.0-3.0 is a modular architecture for them and that space is a concern. So for an i6 i believe that now. Just working on my jeep there’s a good amount of space between the fan shroud and the block but i can’t imagine shoving 2 more cylinders in there unless they find a way to move the block back a little.

Turbos don’t do much good on a low rpm constant speed gas engine

All internet nonsense. If you've ever seen cylinder sleeves they are only mm thick, with a total of maybe half an inch. With the steel removed the aluminum would probably be thicker making the block longer.

Reality is (according to specs) both the I4 and the I6 have the same bore centers. (meaning the center of the piston to the center of the next piston is the same on both engines).

Stellantis has stated the I6 Hurricane has aluminum cylinders. I've asked, looked for accurate info if the I4 has steel liners or not and found nothing.
Even the people that have torn them apart are tight lipped and wont answer.
So until I actually see one I dont believe the I4 has steel liners either.

Even so bore center is bore center. And Stellantis has posted the overall lenght, the thing is a monster!

It’s not just the straight six though. It has two big ol’ turbos hanging off the left/driver side of the engine. Then there is all the related exhaust, intake duct work and intercooler stuff to mount.

I get that a lot of people would be interested in having the option. The Bronco has a turbo six cylinder, a V6 though, and a much larger engine bay.

Look how massive the Hurricane is in a full size Ram 1500 frame.

You would have thought that Stella would have designed the engine to have the turbos on the other side, away from the front driveshaft. That would save the stupid cross-under portion of the exhaust. Wranglers have the same t-case output on the driver's side, so if they put that engine in the Wrangler, it's gonna look just as hideous and the driveshaft may hit it on full droop.

I know, but there’s no room for 2 downpipes on the drivers side. So…..I’d like to see how this engine would fit in a Wrangler.

Speculating a little bit here, but TFL posted pictures of what looks like an AEV Level II Hybrid JL with the Hurricane I6 HO engine in it. No pics of under the hood, but I'm assuming the HURRICANE 500 references the higher output variant of the Hurricane engine which has around 510 HP. Anyone at EJS to confirm?

If it was more than what's obvious (a 4xe 4 cylinder Hurricane) then yes, there would be lots of discussion about it.

What would the 500 mean in that context? There's also a charging port, implying it's a 4xe.
