Speculating a little bit here, but TFL posted pictures of what looks like an AEV Level II Hybrid JL with the Hurricane I6 HO engine in it. No pics of under the hood, but I'm assuming the HURRICANE 500 references the higher output variant of the Hurricane engine which has around 510 HP. Anyone at EJS to confirm?

AEV has expertise in modifying Jeeps beyond their original design limits???
I know they've done a TON with body modifications, but this one seems like Jeep had to have helped out some? I'd be shocked if they stuffed a Hurricane HO into a 4xE all on their own.. but maybe!

? would be amazing if they can get this done at the factory, better yet the standard output non ev version being available for the 2 door. I don't like high strung engines.

I wonder what the packaging look like given how small JL's engine bay is.

Is this why the 392 is leaving?

Provided no one was looking, I'd have been sorely tempted to raise the hood for a look underneath. We complain about the absence of a locking hood; why not take advantage of it just once? ;)

That hood looks longer.
In addition to the possibility of focal length as suggested in the preceding post, it may also be an effect of the long and low font of the hood decal changing the perspective.

Or it might actually be longer. We know that it's longer than the 392. When AMC replaced the Buick Dauntless V6 in 72' they had to lengthen the hood and front fenders of the CJ for the 258 I6. It's one of the reasons I have previously theorized that we probably wouldn't see the Hurricane in the JL.

Still has the blue accents - maybe a 500hp version of the 4XE?
Plug port too, either a likely SO T-6 e due to “Hurricane”. Less likely but perhaps just a bigger “Level ll4Xe electric motor.
(With a 7.7 mi electric range) ?
