They need to do something to make us excited about the brand. Charging $100,000+ for an old school 392 isn’t doing much for its fanboy base.

Hey Stellantis I have an idea for you…stick a medium output inline six into the wrangler for a $3,000 up charge and you might be amazed by the increase in sales. Give me a reason to step up to a newer model…..I already have the 2.0 in my 2020 Ruby and I’m not interested in doing that again. The 3.6 is too gutless for me at altitude and the 2.0 is one crappy sounding engine when cold. If you don't do something, your competitors will….
This. I'm coming up on 60k on my '19 JLR and would love to look at a newer one now that I moved up to the mountains with a resulting longer commute down to the city. The 3.6 feels disposable above 80k with the ticking issues etc and I have had my fair share of recent electrical gremlins (including a "stop, vehicle will shut off").

What are my options for 2024? Another identical 3.6, a 2.0 / 4xE that sounds like a 2005 Nissan Sentra, or a $100,000 392 that gets 9mpg and has a weird hybrid transfer case. No more diesel, either unless I buy used.

I would love a turbo I6 with a little more HP/TQ - a lifted rig on 37s with steel bumpers, a winch, skid plates, and gear can really use it. Right now I'm sitting here like "do I really need to have owned two JLs?"

Will ? Bronco 4 dr 418 Hp, 440 lb ft , the 2 dr even has 415 lb ft available. Jeep’s competitive offerings ? Soon hybrid 4 dr only.

To be fair though the Bronco Raptor with that 418hp is $100k. I'd rather have a 470hp 392 XR for that money. I was looking at 2.7 broncos and trying to swallow the puke in my mouth but I just don't think I can dig the styling or the IFS considering 75% of my Jeep's life has been wheeling trips. Really not a whole lot out there other than Bronco and Wrangler in the same realm of capability - everything else is packaged like a crossover and has low hanging shiny body panels. I was hoping the Land Cruiser would be a bit less of that.

I must be losing my mind, I could have sworn I saw the 3.0 also available on the Heritage Limited, just checked, Nope. Anyway, Jeep’s 4 banger and V6 don’t remotely approach the 2.7’s 415 lb ft either. I did recently read the Braptor’s upgraded front end parts are now available for all, likely bad PR created but should be standard on all. If I were in the market for a 2 dr it would be a Bronco Heritage for the same reason I drove a 4R V8 for 16 years until Jeep offered a V8. Jeep’s engines are unacceptable to me other than the short lived discontinued diesel, and the short lived soon to be discontinued V8. I doubt if I’m the only one. ?

The Hurricane is not in any of the JL and JT official concepts, so the one the OP posted above might not be a factory effort.

Maybe simply a troll that stuck a sticker on his AEV rig to get attention at EJS?

They should strip out all the fancy electronics, make it an analog as possible, and charge a premium for all the fanboys who want the pleasure of having a “Wrangler Classic Edition.” Slot the pricing just below Willys. Publish a bunch of interface and safety specifications for the after-market to run wild.
This would be cool, but the NHTSA wouldn’t allow it. Too many requirements today for safety features that require complex electronics.

I will be… quite upset… if that’s all this is.

You aren't the only one. While I'm enjoying my JL now, with the direction this company has chosen, it's likely my last. Regarding your diesel coment... While I really like diesels, have you seen that YouTuber "I do cars" teardown of an Ecodiesel?? Wow! What a maintenance nightmare!
Not a slam to the diesel owners here, the power output is awesome, but let's be honest, modern EPA mandates have destroyed all that was great about the longevity/reliability of the diesel.

still dont get why we have to get rid of the v8. the i6 turbo is cool and all but the cost/repairs will be as much or more than a v8 with same mileage.

make v8's and diesels great again!

CAFE requirements. If Jeep could continue to sell $100K 392’s in perpetuity you know they would.

It's not a V6 turbo.
