That's the beauty of America, we have the freedom to do with our own money as we wish.
Of course, angry grills, 20's, replacing oem wheels with overpriced other oem wheels, spend it wherever you like. Some people are under the impression that oem parts are the pinnacle of performance, durability, and functionality and that couldn't be farther from the truth. Yes an 8" wheel can work for a 12.50(where most people end up when going to an oversized off road tire), but 9" is better. Of course you can run a spacer, but if you're buying wheels it's illogical to intentionally buy ones with the wrong backspacing. Fake beadlocks are just silly, extra weight for a look and no function. If you're aware of all the shortcomings and the fact that you can get nearly identical aftermarket wheels for the same money or less, by all means. I'm just trying to inform those that may not know any better that there are options that are likely better ones.

Similar looks, better backspacing, wider wheel, better build quality, and $130 cheaper per wheel. If you want to spend an extra $700 for 5 compromised oem wheels, that's your business.

From where I'm sitting, it sounds more like you're trying to belittle others for their choices because they don't jibe with your opinion on things. JMO

Not belittling anyone, the OP stated he "wanted a factory wheel", do as you wish but why are people hung up on factory? Anybody whose ever modified a suspension on any oem vehicle quickly realizes that oem parts are built to be cheap and barely adequate. Why would anyone assume that their wheels are any different? Hold a quality aftermarket track bar or control arm up next to the oem counterparts? From materials to bushings/joints the oem is obviously inferior. Hold a quality aftermarket wheel up next to an oem counterpart and you'll likely find the same. I think the xr wheels look great, but not for the cost of swapping. Again, to each his own.

Some people are under the impression that oem parts are the pinnacle of performance, durability, and functionality and that couldn't be farther from the truth.
The other side of that statement is that some people believe that OEM parts are worst possible option, when in reality they are typically somewhere in the middle.

For example there are plenty of "upgraded" aftermarket wheels that don't meet the standards of OEM wheels.

I'm all for running the oem wheels and a spacer when that's what came on the rig and it's saving me money vs buying wheels. If you think for a second I'm spending $1500+ for a set of oem fake beadlock wheels that's insane. In my opinion there are far better wheels out there in appearance, function, width, and backspacing available. To each his own, but if you are spending that kind of money and then adding beadlock rings and spacers you're throwing money away in my opinion.

I mean as you said to each his own. It’s subjective from an appearance standpoint. Though $2k for true OEM beadlocks seems fine by me as I like that look. They’re +12mm and 8.5” width, which fits my needs. I don’t do enough hardcore wheeling to justify more expensive aftermarket options, and I’d never buy method or icon. Just not a fan of their designs. IMO either OEM or I’ll buy KMC forged.

I run spacers on my gladiator with 37’s on OEM wheels and consistently run 12-15 psi without issue. I don’t need or care for beadlocks on that one.

Generally the low quality aftermarket parts come at a huge discount. That is my problem with oem parts, middle of the road quality at best AND high prices.

I bought a set of XR takeoffs in January also and considered myself lucky to find them. $1300 for a set of 5 with rings and lug nuts.

I wanted a JLUR XR Diesel, but since it's not offered I'm just building my own (with upgraded suspension components). To each their own ?
If you want to raise up your diesel JL, these guys offer an amazing products.

If that`s what makes you happy I say go for it! Ultimately you may not or ever need the lockers or the gearing, unfortunately getting those lockers and gearing add`s up to a lot of money, but why buy them when you don`t think you will ever use them or get them in a package that you don`t need.

I really like the XR wheels, they look very cool on your Jeep too! Once the prices drop on takeoffs I will likely pickup a set of them to replace my Quadratec Recon wheels!

Either these or the Mopar beadlock wheels (the black ones).

I think you may have confused me with someone else. I just mentioned I'd bought takeoff XR wheels for my JLURD.

I actually am purchasing a Clayton lift to run 37's. Glad you recommend it also! And I will be using the Rubicon for what it is wheeling Southern Utah.

Look around on your local classifieds for the MOPAR functional bead lock rings. I managed to score an unused set for $100. Owner had the non XR 392, ordered the 25 bolt rings and had them powder coated gold before checking that they fit. He needed the 24 bolt rings, so he sold them to me for a song since he couldn’t return them once powder coated.

The XR Wheels look great on the 2 Door! I also love the ingenuity using bottle corks for the Spare Bump Stop.

Prime example is the rear OEM steel bumper. Looks nice, but kindly sheds itself into the body when you come off an obstacle. Certainly something I wouldn't pay for. The front you have to be careful if you get a tire onto it in the wrong spot even with the wings off. Same thing with the stock reinforcement bracket. Junk, but then again, so is the idea of running a spare on it in the first place.

That said, I find the wheels to be pretty good -- they even tucked the valve stem away decently this time, and weight isn't too bad.
