1000% agree on the ecodiesel being the best overall engine option in the wrangler including the 392. My ecodiesel gladiator has incredible torque and the 3.73s are great for my 37” KO2’s. Even with heavy 40’s in Moab each year they’re acceptable. And I get above 21-22 mpg really can’t complain...
yep the KO2’s are quite light — possibly why it didn’t really notice much difference. Swap to MT’s, and aftermarket wheels, more lift — and things change quickly.
Same same. I enjoy it as much as my 392. I’ll still take the 392 for crawling but I’d imagine a tune will wake the 3.0 up enough where I might notice the difference a bit less other than noise.
Talking 2 door here.
I'm probably not interpreting this correctly -- but my father's 2023 does not have SiriusXM (Sport S) as he didn't order the technology package. With the 2024 refresh, I'm wondering if SiriusXM is now standard with all trim levels. Using the compare feature ( Model Compare...
A stock Rubicon 2 door or 4 door with the 2.0 4-cyl will likely net you around high teens. 3.6 may be a tad lower. Our stock 2 door Rubi with 2.0 gets ~18-19 over 20,000 miles. 4 door might be 1 mpg less, perhaps, but it won't be a huge difference.
a guy ran a trail this past year with one of our groups with that bumper and it did fine in 100 degree heat. I don’t know if it ran hotter or not but it was fine for 6 hours in the heat and driving through passes to get to trail. I’m not sure I’d want it on a 392 though.
I can understand that. Their vehicles ride nicely on road, and off road. I think their target market is more of the camper type and not a rock crawler, which is fine. Also, I love the OEM+ look. It’s a lot of money to spend on lower priority items though if your use case is something other than...
Those glass claims still count as comprehensive claims on your CLUE report. If you don’t switch carriers and don’t replace more than 1x a year you should be in the clear. Otherwise, pay out of pocket for the others or you may face a non renewal or inability to switch carriers.
Towing capacity went up for '24 -- I don't think the brakes/weight of vehicle changed? We did get a full float axle. 392/4xe stayed where it was though. IMO, sounds like a cooling limitation/combination of things on the 392/4xe.
I do know if I push hard enough up hills on the 392 the oil temp...
Yeah, agreed. I'd probably just put another 35 in it assuming it's really cheap, if it's a temporary fix. A 44 with 5.38 gearing specifically is still a really weak proposition for a 42" tire, which typically are extremely heavy (not a lot of options). At least 38's/39's you can find and keep...
