I lived in Blighty in the 80s, when Defenders were still the real thing and a common sight on the A & B roads. The marque's decision to descend into polymer pusillanimity is unfortunate.

I love the older Defender but they are so out of my range even with needing work done to it.
Have any of you seen the Toyota LandCruiser ? I think there are a lot of versions of it, there was a nicely dressed one at SEMA.

IIRC, they were imported by a company in AZ?

Rock solid build quality and a pretty neat machine. Never understood the appeal of that top configuration, but it was different. I had a D90 at the time and preferred the rawness of that for a convertible.

If MB still offered a 2 door hardtop Gelandewagen I’d consider one.
