You need to lift a sport higher then a Rubicon to clear fenders. Again, Mopar themselves do not market their lifts by model they market them by engine size. Each engine has a different weight rating.
aftermarket companies will market differently as they go by what size tire you want to run with your lift. Like I said Rubicons have highline fenders which allow them to run larger tires with less lift.
Completely understand that the Rubicon fenders allow you to run bigger tires for the same amount of lift. My question is if you take a lift and put it on both a Sport and Rubicon specced the same way (same bumpers, same tires, same top, etc), will their door handles end up at the same height? I think the answer is yes, and the reason people get different results is they start with something that is not the baseline that the lift manufacturer started with - putting a lift on a plastic bumper soft top 2.0 model will result in it being higher than a steel bumper hard top tow package 3.6 model simply due to weight differences

The Mopar lift doesn't account for a lot of things that change vehicle weight: transmission, hardtop, steel bumper, tow package, spare tire weight... it doesn't surprise me that they left out trim level also.

If all Wrangler models start at the same overall height, than why do the majority of non Rubicons end up higher after swapping to Rubicon takeoffs? It's because Rubicons start out higher due to both tires AND suspension.

Rubicons have highline fenders because they are also the only model with a factory equipped front edisconnect sway bar assembly.

The Moab trim was one of, if not the first model that was more than an appearance only package added to the main 3 models (Sport, Sahara, and Rubicon). It was a Sahara with Rubicon suspension, which sat higher than a Sahara. Can't remember what else was carried over from the Rubicon, but it doesn't serve this specific topic. It was purposely meant to serve as a middle ground for those who wanted the Rubicons ride height and ability to fit 35's, without having to pay for all of the Rubicons offroad goodies.

I always assumed the highline fenders were required with the Rubicon tires/shocks/axle, regardless of the swaybar. Jeep would likely need to disregard swaybar/spring resistance when figuring suspension articulation & tire clearance.

On the left is a stock JL. On the right is a JLW on stock wheels and tires (along with a lot of added aftermarket weight), but with take offs from a JLUR XR fully loaded.

If trim models matter they would add them in after all they are the vehicle manufacturer not an aftermarket company.
none the less I’m just here try to save people the disappointment of going through all the work of putting take offs on their and not be happy, When they should have just put PROPER lift springs in to start with.
- OEM springs were never meant to lift, they are meant to carry more weight
- Aftermarket springs are designed to lift.

I've always paired the mentality of the highline fenders to coincide with the factory edisconnect. A connected sway bar on a Rubicon doesn't allow the tires to get anywhere near the fender. I'm trying to keep my mind solely on stock Wranglers and stock equipment that doesn't involve removing hardware.

I’m still waiting for someone to give me suspension measurements of their stock Rubicon as I posted in diagram a couple days ago.

You aren't going to get good results because your sketch leaves too much open to interpretation.

Use shock eye-to-eye and you can compare numbers with just about anyone else on this forum, including the ones I've posted twice in this thread. And you can compare the rear too.

Measure for yourself from front bottom spring base plate to upper spring perch lip and see what you get and I’ll tell you how much lift you have.

and when you come back here with a number I’ll tell you what the number is (with video proof) of a base 2 door sport with no mods.

Looks pretty darn simple to me and easier then shock eye to eye with the top eye under the inner fender liner. Any variance there is less than 1/8”.
hook the measuring tape under the spring mount plate and take the reading at the lip
Of the spring bucket. Eye to eye doesn’t work on modified suspension with outboard shock mounts.

My 2018 was 11-1/4” from top of axle tube to bottom lip of upper coil housing…. Like in this pic…….I measure this way before and after all lifts I install…. Shock eye to eye is also very accurate way to do it….

I’m aware….. easy for him to measure from where I did if he wants to see the difference….
Yup
I know where mine is but the Sport I have measurements for were on the spring mount plate.
just came from the dealer.
The Sport I References earlier was 9 7/8” I Measured a brand new Sahara the measurement was 9 7/8”
same measurement on a loaded Rubicon beside it 10 3/8” … 1/2” difference
My Rubi XR with 2.5” springs 11 3/4”
