I’ll rework that diagram this evening. It must be noted too that anyone who puts lower outboard shock mounts won’t be able the use the shock eye to eye method unless comparing on their own Jeep as they add modifications.

So for clarification, I just did a tire rotation and took measurements with Jeep on jack stands, suspension on full weight, and tires off for better accuracy…

Rubi XR with 2.5” RK springs + ARB Full width Bumper and 12K XRC Gen 3 winch (total extra weight 214lbs)
- shock eye to eye 21.5”
- axle tube to upper spring perch lip 12.5”

EDIT….

compare to average stock Sport, Sahara, Rubicon figures:
- shock eye to eye 19 7/8”
- axle tube to upper spring perch lip 10 7/8”

Just replied to your other thread, my 2dr Sport (3.6L, plastic bumpers) with 1” front spacer measures 21” / 12”.

So what’s the standard going to be on the spring measurement? Top of axle to upper flange or from top of spring perch flat to upper flange?

Interesting thread, anxious to see how the different models compare.

I’m trying to come close to matching the XR with my Sport lift, wheels, axels and tires and haven’t been able to find an XR to measure from.
Looks like I need 2 1/2” based on shock measurements.

The base will be axle tube to spring perch lip or shock eye to eye. Whichever is easier for you. New Diagram was posted. The XR is 1.5” higher in suspension than other models. All models are roughly the same height in suspension. The main differences in appearance are tires and highline fenders. If you want 1.5-2” lift you are better off getting proper lift springs.

If stock axle tube to lower spring perch is almost 11, and your XR+2.5” springs is 12.5, then that means your mods’ weight have compressed your springs almost 2.5”?

Not quite. It’s not XR +2.5” it’s just 2.5”.
When you take out the XR springs you loose the 1.5” of lift. You are replacing a 1.5” lift spring with 2.5” lift spring. In my case the weight of bumper and winch just brought my front back down to stock XR height.

I’m going with a Clayton lift, springs will be proper.
I have a stock Sport. V6 non-Etorque, hard top, 4dr
My front axle to perch lip is 10 5/8” and shock 19 1/8” eye to eye.
That makes the stock XR posted earlier 2 3/8 more than mine based on his 21 1/2” shock measurement.
