if it is on level ground and the tire pressure is at lets say 32psiYah you can never get a constant and consistent measurement to the ground because that is dependent on tire size and tire pressure, your contract has to be suspicion only. The base line has to be set for you average stock vehicles and go from there.
then that is the point, the only differences are the tires size and suspension
the "base" can be whatever you want when you take those variables into account.
I can say "my base is a 23 rubicon XR at 32 psi on level ground with an XR stock suspension"
then I changed just the springs to xxxx and now this is my ride height.
or
then I changed my tires to xxx and now this is my ride height.
