That makes more sense. That's a huge investment to be throwing away after only 2 model years.
i believe the 392 will be around longer. Pretty sure this is in the HD truck line as well? havent heard if theyre going to swap to the inline 6 twin turbo for that one as well as no testing has been done for tow cap. etc.

How long the 392 Rubicon is around is all dependent in bow many vehicles (not just the rubicon) are sold with it. the factory making them is done, so once supply runs out they will stop taking orders.

so if they sell a boatload of challengers and chargers with the 392 and a bunch or rubicons it may be a partial 2023 year run. just like the 2022 allocations ran out long before 2023 order banks opened.

It is all talk for right now. It will eventually happen, and the engineers are definitely working on it as they should. However, the chances of Stellantis making their self-imposed deadline is a debacle in the making that they will have a hard time recovering from. When Jeep places tens-of-thousands of EV charging stations out in the nether regions that Jeepers like to travel, and Jeep can achieve an 800 mile range while wheeling/overlanding (Gotta put in that extra milage to make up for the charging downtime.) then and only then will EV be a truly great choice for those that like to use their Jeeps for what they were originally designed for.

the new inline 3.0 twin turbo will be taking over for the SRT line. I hate seeing this happening since you know. electric batteries just dont last and then they get stuff in the earth to ruin it more than a little C.O emissions. anyways i wont get into that. The Ceo's have already said full electric will not come to jeep for a very long time if it ever does. Hybrids are good but still ICE will be needed as our power grids cannot handle the increase of power production to keep up with the demand. California alone is already telling you, you cannot charge your car between 2PM-9Pm daily due to grid restraints. and currently we do not have the water source to make more power via Hydro. electric. this whole ordeal is stupid
And this is just the beginning. When the folks pushing electric finally realize the electricity has to come from “somewhere” they are going to be shocked and dismayed. And wait till they discover how much fossil fuel is required to mine and produce the batteries AND the electricity itself?. Forest was right! “stupid is as stupid does”

I have a 2021 Challenger Scat Pack Widebody with the 392 in it.

Jeep Wrangler JL No more 392? Challenger

From what I've heard over on the Challenger and Charger forums, 2023 will be the last year for the 392. The 5.7L Hemi's will likely continue in the HD trucks until 2025, and then, no more V8's.
I fully expect 2023 to be the last year for the 392's in Jeep vehicles as well. If you want a big V8, get 'em while you can.

FiatChrysler may rethink that decision to get rid of the V8. As my ears can attest, every third car here is a V8 Charger/Challenger with straight pipes. Completely abandoning the V8 would take a chunk outta what seem to be flourishing sales. Similarly, look at the backlash when Ford took the V8 out of the Raptor.

And I totally get it. My mileage in my Corvette has dropped significantly since I put the Corsa exhaust on, as I'm always wanting to hear that sweet sweet V8. Not so much with the "industrial strength sewing machine" sound that is my Jeep 2.0T.

The world is going to hell anyway, green vehicles aren't gonna stop that. Why go out in a vehicle with a leaf emblem on it when you can go out in a nightmare inducing V8, just like Max Rockatansky envisioned.

You will NEVER make an inline 6, V6, inline 4, boxer 4 OR 6 ever SOUND like a nice throaty V8!...if only I could make my eco diesel SOUND like a 392 HEMI!

Hey ... Diesel has it's own, wonderful sound!!
Well, my 05' DURAMAX diesel has it's own wonderful sound, but my new eco-diesel JLURD has been 'pussified' to the point that it's next to impossible to tell that it's a diesel.
