I have a 2022 JL with adaptive cruise control.
Thought I would hate it (as I had on so many rental cars), but did not hate it on the Jeep. I like it mostly because Jeep's software works decently well. The ONLY down side is that the shortest distance is too long in heavier traffic, and people...
I've wanted something like this for years, but they HAVE to do it right.
If the latest generation of the Suzuki Jimny (Samurai) were sold here I would have bought it instantly. What they make has to be simple, yet charasmatic. It cannot be just a cheaped up version of the Wrangler.
This...
I don't like it either but I can see how they got there. They wanted something bright, unique, flashy, but still a bit subtle (unlike Mojito for example).
But I agree the stigma attached to it being on a minivan is a bummer. There had to be something else they could have chosen like something...
Right. I was going to say that. As good quality as the AEV stuff is, I really don't like considering that OEM Jeep (and yes I know AEV does make some OEM parts). They send off the whole Jeep to AEV to be torn apart to have lift and other stuff installed. I don't see that as much different...
Edit - I just re-read it and noticed it's 3700 units not 100, so you are probably right. That being said, I still think the final will be better and more valuable than the 20th because:
- 20th was interesting, but no the "last of the breed" like the final will be
- 20th had red leather (hate...
I don't think any of these will sell for $100k. I believe most will be special markup and go for 120-150k. Even in today's market.
EDIT: I change my answer. I just noticed it's 3700 units not 100. That totally changes it to business as usual.
Zero shock.
Dealers often are crooks and criminals. I avoid them whenever possible. I luckily found one local and their new car sales and finance has been good and honest. Not sure about the service yet.
Sorry to hear about the problems.
You mentioned multiple times batteries going to the dump (4 x)
To clarify, they go for recycling even when dead, not to the dump. Even Jeep does that.
I disagree with you that "most of the line is already robots and automation" when it comes to final assembly (yes for drivetrain assembly and body in white). I work in the industry. If you go into any final assembly plant (let's use Jeep Wrangler as example) there are 100s if not 1000s of...
OMG read the manual. 4H is only for surfaces which don't have good traction. if you use it on regular pavement you will destroy the transfer case and cause thousands of dollars of damage.
I hope this is a joke.

But then the OP commented " Not really worried about the money and since I have 5 years and 80,000ish miles left on the warranty " so that was a bit confusing.
There is so much to be said for an understated, properly proportioned, daily driver Jeep. The wheel, tire, and bumper combo are just about perfect.
Congrats on not overdoing it.
Exactly the point.
To be fair, I bought this a few years ago (4-5) rust free. But I have been driving it in winter, snow, salt, slush, since then, and still zero rust.
