Straight to the point: has anyone done a relocation of the E-Torque battery?

I guess this is aimed more to the people who have built their rigs to the more “extreme” without having done a motor swap. Like say to make room for a double triangulated 4-link.

just putting the feeler out there to see if others have wanted to do it or if anyone has taken on the challenge and how exactly you did it. I’m sure there’s at least a handful of us that would like to know.

Ive gotten a quick look at the system and it doesn’t look too overly complicated, but most things usually don’t without taking it apart.

Hope we can turn up with something

Did you ever find a solution? I'd like to double triangulate the rear and 3 link the front but I haven't found what people are doing with their etorque batteries yet.

Wow! Is that really a thing? That's a shame; I like the engine and the etorque but I'd really like to set up my suspension the way I want to build it.
No, I was just joking. I bet it could be done. Although in my short 2dr, it would be a challenge.

I was considering rotating it 180 degrees and mounting it closer to the tcase but it's a 48v battery that has its own climate control system so I don't know if it would like being that much closer to a heat source or if it wouldn't care too much.

I was thinking a simple 180* rotation, like this.

It would sit farther forward, over the crossmember and center skid. As close as reasonably possible to the tcase.

Open to suggestion, critique, and/or advice.

The 2-door has the entire assembly mounted further forward. Maybe you can use some factory brackets/hoses.

Not many photos of a 2-door eTorque... but you can see it here next to the resonator:

Bet that resonator gets hotter than the tcase... I think I will try flipping it 180 and building a new bracket for it or something.

That picture was very helpful, thank you :D

FWIW: the Ram has eTorque battery mounted inside the cab.

Yea, I considered that but I do not know where I would put it. Possibly in the trunk on the driver side behind the trim plastic? I think I need to get the dimensions from my battery first before tearing into that.

Do you know if the battery in the Jeep looks about the same as the Ram? It doesn't look very big and it's got a really simple mount. That could make life a lot easier haha

Interesting, the Ram battery doesn’t look like it has its own cooling system. Also looks quite a bit smaller than the Wrangler battery.

Probably doesn't need a cooling system if it isn't mounted right next to the exhaust...

The Ram battery looks like it might fit in a resized rear cubby.
