Serious question for thought. I am 66 and retired living life. My 2019 Sahara 2.0 E torque ...I love my Jeep!
I just went over 80k so the warranty on the battery is over. Jeep runs great and no issues, I am pretty anal on maintenance.
My worry is the 48v battery, and not so much as the replacement cost, but the availability and being a dealer item only.
So 5 years from now will I still be able to get a battery?
It is obvious there will be no after market for this.
I have read about maybe 3 battery failures, but we are just getting to the end of the warranties on these.
I am debating on trading in for a non E Torque.
What do you guys think?

It’s not a dealer only item if you’re willing to pay used. I work in auto salvage and we resell the 48v batteries. Bout 4-500 bucks. But that’s if you’re willing to deal with a used one. It’s possible the aftermarket will catch up and create “non OEM” alternatives.

I'm in the same boat (79K miles) but am going to keep it because it has been very reliable so far. You never know what issues you will have to start over with on a new Jeep.

That is my issue also. I have had zero problems with this one. I want to keep it.

I also have an eTorque and just hope there’s a solution to bypass it down the road if something goes wrong.
