do yours have a a bit of a lip between the face that contacts the car and the rim? if you look at mine there is a bit of a ridge
Maybe, but it looks like surface deterioration to me around the edge where it was exposed to the environment.

Mines flat. There have been several revisions, the ones just installed on my JL came with a gasket.

The great gasket debate......

If anyone thinks gaskets alone is going to solve the corrosion they're dreaming. If it were galvanic ONLY then an insulator (gasket) would fix that, but several mechanisms are causing the corrosion as is evidenced by bubbling at edges of panels that are completely painted - poor prep and contamination on aluminum under paint. The bubbling under the hinges is from corrosion starting on the raw aluminum and travelling under the paint. It may happen quicker without the gasket due to galvanic cell, but will happen eventually even with a gasket at that location. PROPER PREP on ALL ALUMINUM panels and COMPLETE PAINTING are the only thing that is going to stop this.

FFS, THIS is absolutely correct. So beyond galvanic corrosion. It's shitty prep and shitty paint practices.

I concur. Especially considering the wife's '20 Mojito that has corrosion on the hinges AND the side of the hood.

Do you have pics of this gasket? Is that the updated one that was mentioned?
I contacted 2 dealers yesterday and had them check for the latest part numbers. They say there is no gaskets. The first dealer opened the packages and sent me photos. Guessing if gaskets exist, they are an aftermarket item or custom made.

I have a 2018 JL 2 door and just noticed both my doors have paint bubbles around hinges and also around the door edges. Mostly on driver's side. I keep my Jeep clean and do not drive it often, has 19k on it. Door drains are clear. My question is are the dealers willing to assist with repairs or replacement seeing as mine is less than 5 years from date of first use and under 36k? I am currently looking to purchase a 2022 gladiator but I will not if Jeep isn't willing to assist with their issue.

If it is still within the 5 year window get a claim started ASAP before you run out of time.
