My hinges from August 21 build are AE revision

on mine there is a definite lip before the edge that is manufactured. it is not flat all the way to the edge

there is a bit of a ridge where i drew before getting to the leading edge of the hinge

do yours have a a bit of a lip between the face that contacts the car and the rim? if you look at mine there is a bit of a ridge

I scuffed up one of them, I have some touch up paint ill fill it in. On the second bolt i made sure it was seated and it did better

So I was curious what the state of my hinges were and took off one of them (driver rear to see). It looks like the inside of them is painted now? I think looking back at older hinges the left was raw metal like the right? Note the brown is from fluid film i sprayed. Mine is an August 2021 Build

They really should add a film part and we can all pre-emptively add a gasket to them. I might just go order some 3M film

Well we could capture location along with year and even production date (via the VIN). If JL forum was willing to put that on the front page I would setup a google form to capture all that

This is why i put this up. If the issue has not been fixed we should see exponential decay in the graph of data as new years come up. and if it has somehow been resolved a sharp cutoff at some time. We need as many responses as possible to get a good sample

Would you mind taking a photo? My late 21 looks like there is more of a gap than some of the 18s ive seen, but i dont think there is an actual gasket

My first JL, it’s fun to drive but between this and for myself my use case has changed a bit. I want to tow a boat and could use more room for skis , etc. I’m probably going to go find a used expedition or suburban.

My KK mechanically is perfect at the moment, however the clearcoat on the roof and hood has started to delaminate. At this point i dont really care and will just keep it till it blows up

The 3.7L and the 4 Speed proved to be well designed.

After seeing all this im dumping my JL at the sign of the first bubble. Im not dealing with any of this.
