Makes you wonder about all the corrosion that might going on in areas that we can't see, like inside the doors and fenders.

I don't think steel* body parts are much affected, this is mostly alum hood/doors/hinges. But yeah we can never be too sure with what we can't see.

Between the hood, doors, and tailgate, thats pretty much about 5/6th of the entire outer body. Also, Aluminum is a metal, it isn't Ferrous Metal, like the Steel Tub is.

Have them on a couple of mine. Great. Is everyone having successful repairs or not so much.

So far, not really. I had my Passenger side hinge area repaired last year, but the issue returned within a year, and it has also now started on the Drivers side. My Jeep will be going back to the dealer in a couple weeks.

I have to wonder how all this repainting-body work is affecting the resale value of our Jeeps (aka CarFax, Autocheck etc..).

It looks like if I want to keep my JL for the.long haul, I am going to have to buy about $800 worth of Aluminum hinges, and have them painted and installed, professionally. Thanks a lot FCA engineers.
No paint between the hinge and the hood, or doors. Geez, what proud people they must be, at their assembly plants. I would expect this from some 1970's Commie Car, but an American Icon? Wrangler????

The Bronco can’t come soon enough. Jeep needs some serious competition. Aside from some buggy electronics, my wrangler has been great during the first 10 months, 7,000 mile of ownership. Unfortunately I am not optimistic about the future...just too many problem areas. Out of three used wranglers I saw on the dealers lot recently, two had hinge corrosion. I am afraid we will all deal with this eventually...and resale will suffer. I waited until the third model year of the JL before my purchase in hopes the bugs would be worked out....I lost that bet...

The grass is always greener... the Broncos will for sure have their fair share of issues. That’s an entirely new platform. Ford has very many documented issues of the same aluminum corrosion paint bubbling issues on their vehicles, especially the explorer, mustang, and f150. Lots of forum threads over there, just like this thread here.

I honestly like the fact that I can take Jeep’s door hinge off and fix the issue myself, I see it as a challenge and it’s not something I’m going to balk at. There will never be a perfect vehicle

So I’m due to have mine done on April 12th, but am really concerned given all the issues on here that it’s just going to be made worse...
Is it worth the hassle?? And I have Mojito which I can only assume is a pain to match...😣

Yea I still haven’t purchased a JL yet and the more I read about this ongoing issue it talks me out of it. Cant pull the trigger still because of this. I’d be livid if I was you guys. @JeepCares why is FCA not painting under the hinges??! This is insane

Jessh! It looks like they used a can of spray paint! Please tell me you didn't accept your Jeep looking like that.
