My dealer says they do not get reimbursed enough to cover their cost and will only do this repair for their customers. Even then they slow walk the repairs and only do one a week.
Dude! I would find another dealer, and also complain to Jeep! Yeah, complaining won't do much (except sometimes make the complainer feel a bit better) but I'm pretty sure doing warranty work is part of the deal/contract/rules when you're a Jeep dealership! Maybe someone who actually knows will let you know if my thoughts are correct.

Any idea if the dealerships are applying this TSB to doors/hinges that aren't yet exhibiting any corrosion? Clearly, the TSB is addressing the matter after the damage has been done, instead of trying to prevent it in the first place. Seems like doing the latter would be cheaper for Stellantis and easier on the service departments/body shops. Of course, that's the common sense approach, so I suspect Stellantis is doing the opposite! :(
I doubt it. It’s a numbers game. They’ve known about the issue years ago and continued to assemble/paint the vehicles the same way. Apparently it’s more cost effective to repair them as they pop up rather than fix the issue in the first place.

2022 models are still having this issue?! One would think they would have resolved it during the build process to prevent further corrosion on later models past 2020. To my understanding, it’s been an ongoing problem since 2018.
Its actually been an issue since the JK it just wasn't nearly as bad. It would help if they actually painted under the hinges. Aside from that their paint jobs in general are sadly trailing the pack of most other brands. You can spend 100k+ on a jeep now and it corrodes sometimes inside a year like all the others sadly.

Oic. Hopefully that's just a line they're feeding you to make you feel special even though you have to wait. In any case, I hope they do a good job on yours.
No, it's not a line they use to make me feel special. They are the only local Jeep dealer with a body shop and they will only do the corroded paint warranty repair for their own costumers. They will not do it for people who are not their customers.

Wow! That seems so weird. (That Jeep would allow it.) Especially if they're the only show in town. I'm glad you have a place in line, though! :)

(A bit concerning to me, too, since I didn't buy mine from the dealership closest to me -- there are quite a few fairly close, though!)

Precisely.

Also, as noted, Jeep reimburses dealers not for their actual costs for doing warranty work but on a specific reimbursement schedule.

For most repairs dealers are fine with that because they hope to make up the difference selling you other services you may or may not need ("We noticed your battery is a little low, we've got these replacements on sale now for…" or "You're overdue for a transfer case fluid change, would you like us to do it as long as you're here?")

They don't get the opportunity to do that if they're dealing with paint, especially if all they are actually doing is farming the work out to a local body shop.

For my warranty claim - hopefully FCA will do the right thing to approve replacing 2 door panels and the hood. As the manager informed that any corrosion at panel seams now requires full replacement and not just spot repairs. We will see.
Well got our third and last FCA approval for hood and door panel replacements. But because the panels are on back-order - the repairs will end up being completed about a month or so after our 5 year corrosion warranty expires.

Keys are to make sure the Dealer has an in-house body shop - and the Dealer gets pre-approval from the FCA District Warranty Manager for this type of time extension.

Note the Dealer doing the warranty work will be different from the Dealer that sold the JL originally. Also the Corrosion warranty is for a full 5 years. Perforations or holes are not required. Took only 2 days for FCA to make their determination to "approve" once photos were submitted by the Dealer

Definitely get this corrosion work "approved" before 5 years - as once past this you are SOL. Plus find a Dealer very well versed submitting and doing FCA corrosion warranty claims. Anything to the contrary you have read in past posts is either misinformation - guessing - or plain BS - by trolls or Dealers who are simply clueless.

I took mine in to the body shop Monday morning. They are using the new hinges on the doors, tailgate and hood.

I just dropped mine off at the dealer's body shop this morning. They told me probably 3 days to repair it. Then the other shoe dropped.....they gave me my loaner....a Jeep Renegade. I kinda threw up in my mouth a little bit when I got in it. What a sorry excuse for something to sport a Jeep nameplate.

Mine went in Monday for bubbles on 3 doors and the hood, was told 1 and a half to 2 weeks. Then came the loaner a Pacifica. ?

This is gonna be a potentially looong 2 weeks the.

RETIRED!
I just returned home with the Jeep after 10 (working days) of it being in the body shop. The bill came to just $6.00 shy of $6400.00. The body shop did an awesome job of matching the paint. All new hinges (with the zinc pads) on the doors, hood and tailgate.

I am sorry for those that are having to fight for the repair. I visited the dealer one time for the issue back in late Jan or Feb 2023, they took photos and measurements. 3 days later I got a call to take it to the two body shops that they use to get estimates. The quotes were about $2000 different and to my surprise they told me to take it to the higher priced place. (they have done all Jeep corrosion repairs for this dealer). I asked if we could wait till May or June and they were OK with that.

The body shop handled everything after they were told that they had the job. Thumbs up to Jeep, my local dealer and the body shop!
