I had my 2 door Sport S evaluated today. The body shop manager was very thorough and took many, many pictures. I am sixth in line and some of the parts are on back order so it probably won’t be until August or September. The tailgate and hinges were ok. I will be getting new doors, a new hood and all new hinges.

Damn! Might be the worst one I've seen to date!
Actually I only showed a few of the corrosion spots in those pics - there were actually many more on almost every panel and hinge!

The body shop manager saw me taking pics of it on his lot - so I asked him a few questions about it. Was truly amazing how much corrosion had formed. It was a total mess and it looks like FCA has to replace almost all hinges and most body panels. Crazy.

For my warranty claim - hopefully FCA will do the right thing to approve replacing 2 door panels and the hood. As the manager informed that any corrosion at panel seams now requires full replacement and not just spot repairs. We will see.

I really don't see how it is acceptable to basically rebuild a factory vehicle with new body panels and people seem OK with it??! It is sickening to think that is what needs to be done, and there still won't be any assurance that the problem won't come back.

Evidently your Jeep is ok. Mine isn't. Do I like the fact they will be replacing the panels, no I don't but it is at least regaining some of the value of the Jeep when I decide what to do with it.

I had to go through 3 repaints on mine - it was a total disaster. I guess my real point is that just because factory failed and dealer fixed it doesn't mean its "FIXED", should be unloaded. These new JLs are just NOT GOOD QUALITY to try to keep for any length of time.

My 2022 JT has the added gasket between the hinge and the door and my driver door hinge started bubbling at just 9 months. Now my hood is bubbling along the edges under my Rubicon stickers along 2-3 spots on each side. Mine is Sting Gray if it matters - not sure if some are more prone to bubbles or not. I can say their paint prep is garbage for sure. My 09 JK wasn't nearly this bad this early on.
2022 models are still having this issue?! One would think they would have resolved it during the build process to prevent further corrosion on later models past 2020. To my understanding, it’s been an ongoing problem since 2018.

It's been around even longer than that. My 09 JK had paint on the hinges bubble as well back in the day but took years to start not 9 months. Paint quality is actually going backwards I think.

Having a second body shop look at mine on Tuesday as the first dealer/body shop threw up their hands and said "Yeah we're not going to help you, find someone else". Tailgate, hood, 3 out of 4 doors. Been getting the run around since August of 2020. The quality of the paint and other areas of the vehicle is trash, and yet they keep increasing the price of these things. There are days I wish I didn't love the thing so damn much.

Thought I had escaped this with my '19 down here in TX, unfortunately I found a couple of spots on both passenger doors. :( Need to get it to the dealer soon since I'm at 91k miles.

Anyy tips on how to avoid the run around? I know "read the forum" but 194 pages is a ton. People will think I'm asleep in the stall. Lol

No mileage limit for the corrosion warranty. It’s 5 years from date of first sale.

I have been trying to get this issue fixed with my jeep. Not many of the local jeep dealers have body shops so no one wants to look at this. I have called jeep to see what they can do to assist. I originally bought my Jeep in another area than where I'm currently living. Apparently the only dealer that is required to look at or fix this is the dealer that it was purchased from.
I have talked to a few people at jeep and they keep handing my case off to someone else. I feel like I'm getting the run around.
Today I just got off the phone with a senior case specialist who was one of the most rude person that I have ever dealt with. She basically told me if there is not holes in the doors its not a corrosion issue and they cannot force a dealer to fix this.
So basically Jeep has a warranty but there is no one to fix this?
I'm at a loss here and looking for some advice.
I thought about contacting the attorney general in my state to file a complaint or maybe a lawyer to file a suit. I really don't want to go down this road but I don't see many other options here.

That reason the "senior specialist" gave is the exact reason for the class action lawsuit. The C.A.L. is stating that FCA/Stelantis or whatever they call themselves knows that aluminum will not have perforations those the corrosion warranty is just words on paper to dupe us into buying their product.

That is so.ewhat comforting but still worried since I bought out of town and don't want local dealer(s) to deny since I wasn't their customer.

Some dealers suck more than others, but it's a warranty through Jeep, not a dealer -- so any of them should honor it.

A lot of ppl move, buy from dealers FAR from home, and/or buy a used vehicle with still-valid warranties. Think of it that way and take in your Jeep with confidence.

Any idea if the dealerships are applying this TSB to doors/hinges that aren't yet exhibiting any corrosion? Clearly, the TSB is addressing the matter after the damage has been done, instead of trying to prevent it in the first place. Seems like doing the latter would be cheaper for Stellantis and easier on the service departments/body shops. Of course, that's the common sense approach, so I suspect Stellantis is doing the opposite! :(

My dealer says they do not get reimbursed enough to cover their cost and will only do this repair for their customers. Even then they slow walk the repairs and only do one a week.
