"Some of the above frames may have been built with an unnecessary and unused frame stud. When installed in a vehicle, the frame stud may contact the fuel tank in a crash, which, in certain circumstances, can cause a fuel leak. A fuel leak in the presence of a competent ignition source may result in a fire, increasing the risk of occupant injury and/or injury to persons outside the vehicle."

Don't forget that removing it requires you to hold your chisel with a pair of vise grips while you have someone else hold your Coors Light:

Amateur. I am taking mine off with a plasma cutter, far easier.

Oh fantastic, now there's a second way my Jeep can burst into flames.

Make sure to hold it with some woodworking clamps or the recall won't actually be complete.

Received the notice yesterday morning and an hour later, the job was complete.
I used a 3-lb hammer and a cold chisel to chop the stud off. It's too tight an area to risk using the plasma cutter.
The Factory PFD listed above has all the info needed.

Mines got a TT prefix chassis, so no stud. Build date of 6/24/22 if that is, or isn't a reference point for anyone...

Got my notice earlier in the week and my frame says "LOL".

I NEED one of those anti-matter solder tips. The fun one could have is limitless.

Where does one obtain information about their chassis' prefix?
The original thread (link above) has the official recall notice that tells you where, and what to look for. (Sticker on the left outside frame rail just behind the door hinge).

Thank you.

I just looked. TT on my frame sticker. Phew. Now I can keep my Jeep-worrying exclusive to my potentially exploding clutch.
