Any clearancing on the bracket with a carbide burr that can be done? I’m trying to visualize without any parts. I also want to stay with my Rubicon springs and low CG and was considering the engine skid.

Well, without the brace, you have less structural rigidity, which gives you greater frame articulation. :)
LOL... That's an interesting take.

With the brace you have less ground clearance, and are more likely to... catch the brace on something, possibly damaging the frame or skid plate more than it would have been without the brace?

I finally got the asfir engine and transfer skid and I can confirm the transfer case skid ABSOLUTELY FITS a 2020 4 door automatic 2.0 turbo with etorque wrangler. Watching the videos made install easy. Took me about an hour laying on my back in the garage. The hardest part was trying to get the bolt into the “remote nut” bar Once it’s inside the frame. The way I got it in was insert it in the frame then screw bolt in. Once the bolt is in use some locking pliers to clamp the end of the remote nut bar to the frame (where you insert it in the hole in the frame) so it’s held in place. Then unscrew bolt, fit metal bar over the hole and put bolt back in. I included pics below.

I've been wondering, is the transfer case skid plate really needed as much as the engine/transmission skid plate? Or is it just another level of extra protection?

probably not needed as it just covers up the oem skid But it is bigger than oem.

What do you guys do with the metal rod that sticks out after you install the engine skid?

It's fairly easy to bend. I just bent mine, stuck it in the frame, and then unbent it enough that it should stay in there. Figured that way there was nothing sharp or pointy sticking out.

Also, to anyone wondering, I contacted Asfir about my transfer case skid not fitting and they agreed that they sent me an early design on accident. They've absolutely made it right and I couldn't be happier with their customer service.

I cheated.

I put the bolt on the end of the “stick” and pushed that through then threaded the nut on. Much easier.

so far so good after 4K on ‘19 etorque

Just ordered the engine and transfer case skids from ASFIR based on this thread. About how long was shipping? Who do they use for the courier?

Took 2 weeks and it was delivered via USPS, so you may need to visit your post office to receive a box.
