  1. High clearance trailer hitch?

Good reference info and food for thought. Thanks to everyone for the advice.
  2. High clearance trailer hitch?

Currently have OEM metal rear bumper, and am looking to get a trailer hitch with 2" receiver for a small aluminum trailer . Does anyone have experience with a hitch that does not lessen ground clearance?
  3. Installed 285/75 17 AEV 2.5, stock wheels

Attached is photo of stock Rubi with 285x75r17 KO2s. Wanted to keep the same tire width as stock, actual diameter is 33.9, which is not much less than some 35s that measure out at 34.5 diameter.
  4. Anyone running 285x75x17 on a 2.5" lift?

These 33.9" tires are same width as stock, and are not easily distinguishable from many 35s which often measure at 34.5". Kept the stock 33" spare since these 275s are E rated 10 ply and less prone to puncture. If you want the look of 35s without the penalties, I think this is a reasonable...
  5. Anyone running 285x75x17 on a 2.5" lift?

I have that size tire with KO2s on a Rubicon, but without lift. Looks very good on a 2 door, not so sure of how a Rubi would look with a lift, since it may make the tires appear small. From a practical standpoint, no rubbing at all. I think I would go with the 1.5 kit for the Sport.
  6. 2 Door JLR vs 4Door JLUR Offroad Capabilities

True about width; most owners, when they upgrade to 35s, choose 315 tires, many of which end up being 34.4" diameter, not actual 35". So it seems to me that if you add 34" tires (285x75) to a JLR with no added lift, you would be pretty close to a lifted JLUR with 35s.
  7. 2 Door JLR vs 4Door JLUR Offroad Capabilities

A friend of mine is considering a 4 door due to the usual family considerations. What do you reckon he would need to do to make his ride equally capable on most trails to a stock 2 door JLR? Would he need to go to 315 tires or a Mopar lift in order to bring it to the same level of offroad...
  8. 2.0 Engine Skid Plates

What is the difference between the Valvomax and the Fumoto? Is the Fumoto significantly longer?
  9. 2.0 Engine Skid Plates

And maybe even gives improved chassis articulation. :)
  10. 2.0 Engine Skid Plates

I think that the Asfir is fine for light to perhaps moderate level usage, but for anything greater than that, I would opt for the steel.
  11. 2.0 Engine Skid Plates

I installed the Asfir on my 2 door, fairly easy install, improved ground clearance, the only concern I had was having to delete the crossbar. So far, have not noticed any adverse effects, but can't help but wonder if the structural rigidity may have been compromised.
  12. Borla Exhaust for the Jeep Wrangler JL 2.0L

Spoke with them 2 weeks ago, all they were able to say was "soon".
  13. Borla Exhaust for the Jeep Wrangler JL 2.0L

Last post on this thread was nearly one year ago. Is there any update on when the climber touring cat-back will be available for the two door 2.0 turbo?
  14. Quiet cat back exhaust for a 2 door turbo

There are quite a few axle back systems, but none of them seem to give the same ground clearance that you get from a cat-back.
  15. Quiet cat back exhaust for a 2 door turbo

Thanks for checking, you got a great system, Borla had been my first choice, since they had a dedicated street-friendly version, the one you have. Still do not understand, with so many manufacturers, why doesn't someone make a reasonably quiet cat back for the two door turbo?
  16. Quiet cat back exhaust for a 2 door turbo

I've searched all the threads, but unless I am missing something, the quiet cat back options for 2 door turbos are almost non existent. The only one I could find was MBRP, which reportedly is not especially quiet, and also requires that it be cut to size for the 2 door, making it impossible to...
  17. 2.0 Engine Skid Plates

Can't help but wonder if some structural rigidity was lost with the brace removal.
  18. Is a muffler skid really needed?

I think Midas still offers a $19.95 install special to forum members.
  19. Is a muffler skid really needed?

Seems to be the consensus opinion is remove the muffler, but wear noise cancelling headphones. Sounds like a plan. Maybe Bose or Sony?
