You all can do what you want put common sense would say
A empty filter housing and oil cooler is not a good thing
I have changed thousands of oil filters in the last 50 years as a mechanic and 99.9% of the time oil will pour out of the filter when it is removed. Not so on the 3.6. It is empty. Completely empty
As far as the $350 cost. Drop it the bucket compared to my other mods
Bead locks and tires $6000
Gearing & 4.5 lift 2.5 shocks suspension part $9000
Drive shafts $1400
Delta brakes $2500
Bumpers winches recovery gear $2500
Inside and out side mods $4000
Just a few that I can remember
$350 to keep your oil filter full of oil. I can deal with that
After re-watching the video, it looks like there is less side-to-side torque on the oil cooler installing/removing the filter with the Baxter by hand than using tools with the OEM filter, so that's good.

Question, are you still filling the crankcase with 5 qts or are you adding more oil to account for the increased capacity?

I'm running Pennzoil Platinum Euro Full Synthetic 5W-40.
I'm interested in switching to 5w-40 oil.
Which engine do you have, and do you have any engine oil reports or something that might shed some light on how it has been as far as wear goes?

I have the 3.6 and just changed from 5w30 to 5w40.
I do believe that it run just a little bit quieter.
I also believe that the higher viscosity can only help the needle bearings in the cam followers especially when the engine gets hot.

I tried ordering it through Amazon. First time it arrived with the cap messed up and leaked oil on my sidewalk. Probably from the delivery driver just dropping it. I requested a replacement and that one probably got damaged and leaked somewhere along the way as it was marked “damaged, undeliverable” and I was issued a refund. I got tired of waiting so I just bit the bullet and went to advanced.
Have you tried walmart? thats where i get mine

My Walmart doesn’t have the ultra platinum, just regular platinum.
But they do have M1 Extended Performance, which is good stuff.

Time to rain AMSOIL Oil on our parade.!! ?

AMSOIL is the best !!!
I only use AMSOIL!!... even for cooking French Fries!!
My AMSOIL Milkshake is better than yours !!!
to AMSOIL Infinity!! and beyond!!
.......
I reject your Oil reality .. and replace my AMSOIL own !!
Are your trying to be silly, or just don't believe ASOIL is a quality lubricant? Have you ever used any AMSOIL products? I have had the opportunity to witness firsthand some AMSOIL wear tests.

I have been a long time AMSOIL user, & have never had a engine/parts failure of any kind!

Currently I use it in two HD's(one a performance drag bike)an Indian, my JL 3.6(5W-30 live in AZ) a MB(over 150,000 miles)& two previous owned MB's both having over 200,000 miles on them , still running when I got rid of them.

I would appreciate any honest feedback & experience that you, or any others from this forum, could provide about why I or other AMSOIL users should consider discontinuing the use of their products.

Thanks for taking the time to read this.

as long as you run Amsoil it doesnt matter what weight you run or even if you use an Oring or not. hell, you dont even need to change the filter!

PM me for more details and a discount code :like:
That's an asinine thing to say! There's nothing wrong with AMOIL, no it's not a fix all, just one of the highier quality lubricants out there!!

Most people that knock AMSOIL are just too fucking cheap to spend the money. I use AMSOIL in all my vehicles, 3.6 JL, a MB, an Indian & two HD motorcycle's.

No complaints or mechanical problems due to the lubrication systems. I can tell you for fact when I starting using AMSOIL in my HD motorcycle's, there was decrease in engine temperature & smoother quieter shifting.

So much for intelligent, honest feedback. Shouldn't have expected anything more I guess.

So has anyone figured out that the 0w20 oil circulates faster at cold starts, when the majority of the wear occurs and that the thinner oil pulls heat faster?
