Sent a sample. I bought a quart months ago for analysis. It is my last VOA, no more. Result should come in a couple of weeks.

This oil has big claims, 2.9 HTHS and 9.0 viscosity at 100 degrees. The thickest and most shear resistant 0w20 on the market.

Just buy a 0W-30...and save yourself some $$$.

Probably a few VOAs of it on BITOG.

Redline makes great products, but I'd have a hard time recommending their motor oil on cost alone when a jug of Valvoline/Pennzoil can be had for ~$25. I do run their gear oil and tranny fluids, though!

In the later model engines, if the thinner viscosity API certified oils (0W 20) is the factory recommendation there is a real reason why they are recommended for the longevity of the engine. Using a thicker viscosity oils may not be in your best interest in the long run according to the studies. It is about the additives not the viscosity in the API certified 0W 20 oils, if you are using the top brand gasoline pumped from top brand stations and the not Costcos and Sam's Clubs of the world.

Also owning an EV, I just shake my head at how we've become conditioned to accept this kind of witchcraft and bovine scatology around engine oil selection. And paying $30-$50 a pop to do our own testing on products, and arguing about what octane fuel to use, where to buy it, etc. And then becoming self-righteous about the results. 🤪

You guys are all doing it wrong. 6qrts of equal parts 0w20 and 5w30 with a couple of squirts of wd40 for lubrication at every oil change will guarantee you are always running with an engine that may as well be brand new!

Wouldn't the Tri-Flow Superior Lubricant with Teflon work better and last longer than the WD40?

Usually it is recommended to try the oil and get a after and see how it performed in the engine :)
