XR wheels on JLR

Virtually all aftermarket bumpers aren't crash tested (AEV is the only one I know of that is). The OEM has vastly different criteria to meet.

I guess "good" is subjective depending on everybody's needs. Sacrificing the Jeep instead of giving the occupants whiplash might be what the OEM intended.

AEV is the rear bumper I went with... its the only one close to OEM look and feel.

I actually am purchasing a Clayton lift to run 37's. Glad you recommend it also! And I will be using the Rubicon for what it is wheeling Southern Utah.

What about if he purchased a take off Rubicon spring and shock setup? Cheap and easy to do and will help with the rubbing and it will give you some lift

If it is not a Rubicon, the fenders are already lower so I would imagine that it will still rub. The suspension might help but the other than +45 offset on the rubicon with 35s will rub or even contact the border of the fender if it has to much of a negative offset. You want an offset that the entire tire is stuffed inside the fender wells. This is the first mistake People do when changing the wheels on a wrangler. They put these extreme negative offsets or spacers and then complain that 35s rub on a Rubicon. If it is just for looks and it’s never going to see off-road, then you can get away with it.

I bought a set of XR takeoffs in January also and considered myself lucky to find them. $1300 for a set of 5 with rings and lug nuts.

I wanted a JLUR XR Diesel, but since it's not offered I'm just building my own (with upgraded suspension components). To each their own ?

Actually 315/70/17. the are a smidge wider, but a smidge shorter than the 35/12.5. I wanted wider for sand.

About the only thing I was not happy about when I ordered my '22 JRL was the wheel choice. Why no 'all black'? If this wheel/tire option was available, I'm pretty sure I would have jumped on it unless the price was stupid. Looks awesome!

Read through but didn’t see this addressed. Did you have to do anything in particular as far as spacing goes? Also since you have had them on, any issues? I love the stance and look but also need functionality.

What spacing are you referring to exactly? I’ve had 0 issues in terms of rubbing

Mostly trying to see if you had to cut or trim anything to prevent them from rubbing. Particularly when you do a hard turn.

My question about having them on long term was more about if the change in geometry affected anything negatively.

I know it’s only about an inch and a half difference in tire size so it doesn’t seem like it should cause any long term problems, but I’ve been leery of just adding larger tires without adjusting the suspension.
