Greetings guys,

I've received my Warn Evo 10S winch and waiting for my bulldog winch plate. I know I don't want to run the regular tow hook that comes with the winch and am wondering which type of hook/shackle to go with ...

Thanks for any input.

I’d go with the flat link. The pro link sticks out much further than you’d expect. It’s not ball hitch deadly but it’ll smart when you whack into it in the dark ?

I'm a fan of the winch thimble fan myself, but I run a knock off $20 amazon special.

Yeah price makes sense, that way if it gets damaged, it's really no big deal.... $20 buys another one. Have you put it to the test ???

I didn’t like the hook and wasn’t ready to spend more on fancy shackles. I just put a shackle on and zip tied the pin so I can’t fall out. Suck it up tight to the fair lead and it doesn’t move. I also put a piece of wire loom over the end just to help keep the winch line out of the elements.

Careful with that. You'll scar the fairlead which will cut your line.
