Jeep is building a huge " Customization " facility, maybe this is where the aforementioned retrofits could happen.
Jeep knows how lucrative the aftermarket is, and getting a major share of those profits is smart business

I think we all know what's going to come out of there...

So being an Engine Poll, let's look at the numbers based only on the engine and omit what transmission or whether it's eTorque or not. That's the only way to really have an engine poll...

So with 379 votes in we are at:

1. 3.6 with 162
2 . 2.0 with 81
3. 392 with 60
4. 3.0 with 52
5. 4xe with 17
6. GME with 4
7. 2.2 with 2
8. Ecoboost with 1

No offense Anndee4444

None taken. It's really a powertrain poll, excluding the transfer case, axles, etc.

And technically you should add 4xe in the 2.0 total if we aren't counting transmissions.

People are free to vote under whatever criteria they feel like... I never asked a que For instance, I was the first vote for the 2.2 since it's always intrigued me and I knew it wouldn't get many votes. I've even encouraged people to vote for their least favorite in the very first post. This means that the results of this poll prove nothing, and purely exists for entertainment value only.

KBB puts my 2018 2.0 resale about as much as I paid three years ago including the taxes. Any better and I would stop funding my 401K and just buy Jeeps.
LOL! KBB puts mine in at 3,500 more than I paid for it 10 months ago including taxes, and fees (no trade).

Lmao at the ecoboost option. Hell yes Iā€™d take a 3.5 twin turbo.

Sorry, I was only addressing the Wrangler engines.

Yes. There is a reason they don't put the 2.0 in the Gladiator. The reason is that FCA can not make enough of the 2.0T engine, and they have excess production capacity for the 3.6.

The Gladiator is competing with 15 year old engines on the Tacos and Chevy's, and it has a much larger EPA/DOT-defined footprint, so fuel economy is less critical there. So FCA kept in simple with a single gasoline engine there the 3.6, which, together with the 2.4L NA 4 are some of the least efficient and least technologically advanced engines in FCA's inventory.

On the Wrangler, FCA constantly re-jigger the engine options to balance the 2.0T supply with the need to meet specific fuel economy goals.

If you are implying that a 2.0T would not work on a Gladiator, you are mistaken. Ford's 2.3T works great on the Ranger, to give just one example.
They do not use the 2.0T in the Gladiator for thermodynamic reasons. Cooling requirements under max load. Notice how the Gladiator grill is different than the Wrangler grills? It's all for more efficient cooling.

Hi,

Suprise to see the 3.6 Manual is winning (add the 2 listings), now is that because of the 3.6 or the idea of a manual transmission?

Regards,
Jim

Since this forum can't seem to get enough of these engine/drivetrain discussions, we need to simplify this into a poll. I don't care how or what your reasoning is, just vote. No what-if scenarios or explanations needed... this could be the engine you chose, can/can't afford, most/least favorite, preferred transmission etc. Absolutely no justification is requested, just a click on the option you feel like.
Poll is missing the 2.2 Multijet.
