Want to invest in a good double sleeping pad for tent camping. Lots of them out there but have narrowed it down to 3 that really interest me.

- Klymit Klymaloft
- Exped Megat Duo 10
- Sea to Summit Comfort Deluxe

Again...needs to be for two people. I'm not a fan of using two single pads cause if the crease in the middle.

I know the R-values are better on the Exped and the S2S but we do not do much cold weather camping.

Anyone using these brands? Any thoughts? Thanks in advance!

I've heard good things about the Roamer, but I'm a Klymit fan. I have several pieces of their gear. When I used to ground camp, Klymit pads were my go-to.

I've got the Klymit Double V now and like it...just not quite wide enough for two people though...plenty nice for one. And I have their Drift pillows too. So, leaning Klymaloft but will check at the Roamer.

I have had an exped megamat for 5yrs that I love. But, I ordered my mom a “lost horizon” pad from Amazon that is just as nice and probably a tad more comfy.

I have about 4 or 5 of them and have done some reviews on them and the HEST memory foam is by far the best. Big, but comfy and warm in the winter.

The Nemo Roamer is solid as well, a little cheaper and takes up less room.

If you sign up for backcountry.com's email list you can get 15% off as well and I think they have them.

LLBean has some great stuff, but even better is their return policy. If you don't like it today, tomorrow or next year or the year after, just call them up and they will refund your $.

LLB refunded my money on a shirt I had bought 10 years before and I mentioned it to the sales person on the fone, they looked up my data and asked if I wanted a credit, or send me a check...

I've had really good experiences with my Klymit V, though it's a little narrow, and I roll off sometimes, so a double might run a bit narrow for 2 people, but double check the measurements.

I'll note that from what I've experienced and read online, Klymit tends to game their R ratings, so even the insulated pads aren't going to protect you from cold as much as you'd hope. You mentioned you don't plan on doing much cold camping so you should be fine, but I hate laying on cold spots so I picked up an insulated Nemo pad that's a little wider and much better insulated for my cold camping.

Edit: I should have read the rest of the thread before responding lol, I see now that you already have a Double V. Disregard everything haha...

Wow! Those pads are pricey.

When I needed pads for my dogs in the vehicles, I went to an upholstery foam supply store. They have foams in various qualities, firmness and cut to size using a monster gantry type of band saw. I'm fortunate that my wife is a good seamstress and made covers for these pads.

Been using the Exped Megamat Duo 10 for the last year or so and really like it. Plenty of room for me and my girl, comfortable and quite warm (in almost all conditions you lose more heat to the ground than to the air, so a sleeping pad is more important than a sleeping bag / quilt for staying warm) down to freezing at least. Not much air needed to top it off if you let it inflate by itself for a couple of hours.

Only downside is that it's a big boy, takes up a good amount of cargo space and can take a bit of work to get it rolled back up.

I use an exped megamat. I like it except it takes up a lot of space. If you are packing a lot of gear, I'd get something else.

I've tried a bunch.
Love my qomotop, or whatever it's called.
Not cheap, but well worth it.
They make single and double.
