It's just strategy. You plan to unhook it yourself, and he intends for the passenger to get it, subconsciously of course.
There's an old song where a senior cowboy asks a young one, if three men are in a single cab pickup, can you tell the real cowboy just by where he sits?
The real one is in...
Mine all started with an oil leak on the cooler. Oil ran down, fried the solenoid that controls cam phasers, trickled down and fried O2 sensors...that screwed up the air/fuel ratio and burnt up plugs & coils. yada yada yada
Picked it up from the shop, again. They deduced that one of the four O2 sensors they installed was faulty. Praying that fixes it and I can get out adventuring this weekend!
Upgraded yak to the Nucanoe Unlimited. Lowered the bars on the Malone Microsport XT trailer, and added a cargo box from Ironman4x4.
The box is waterproof, and I added Rhino Rack rod holders to the top, as well as an interior LED strip.
Yep, they have agreed to coordinate with the shop of my choice, deliver the Jeep, and pay for that new shop to determjne the problem.
After that, it's either all going to be paid for by the original shop, or we're gonna have an issue.
So the $4K I gave the local shop to correct the "running rough and has a CEL" problem led me to this morning, when my Jeep was running rough and threw a CEL.
"I think we've done all we can. You might need to take it to a specialty shop because you have add-ons."
"They're LED lights. They don't...
Made it to work & back without issue! So here's what it took:
valve cover gasket
spark plugs
coils
oil cooler
all 4 O2 sensors
variable timing valve solenoid
It's running great, and the work is warrantied, so I'm satisfied. EXCEPT they apparently disconnected the Trigger aux controller, and...
So the shop replaced another O2 sensor and said there was no leak. They test drove it and got more misfires. This morning, a former Dodge tech took over.
Now it's getting new coils, and a new valve cover gasket because HE FOUND THE LEAK I kept telling them about.
Praying that this finally...
I feel the OP's pain. Moronic drivers who are focused on everything but driving are no less obnoxious than train horns. They're just quieter - at least until they cause an accident.
I didn't install train horns, but I did upgrade. Two of these are an easy fit behind the grill, and they have...
So the mechanic reports a second failed O2 sesnor, and conveniently doesn't smell any fluids like I did.
They're waiving the diagnostics and charging me just over $100 for the additional part & labor. Ok.
Then they tell me, "These O2 sensors usually fail about the same time, so we should...
