Did they put another CP4 pump back in?
And I’d say they are having lots of CP4 issues because my Service Rep called me yesterday and to my complete shock and surprise they had everything in stock at the dealer to swap out my entire fuel system. I might get by Jeep back as early as tonight. The bad news is I will still have a CP4 fuel pump
Unfortunately, it looks like they did.

Yup. I double checked the part number of the pump installed and it’s the CP4.

Just gonna cross my fingers, try not to think about it, and hope it makes it until they get an official fix. I’m definitely gonna still drive it! They say lightening never strikes twice…

i think ours already have the latest version of the CP4.

did they also replace the Fuel Pump/Gauge module? (they did for mine; this was the part that i had to wait the longest for.)

be aware that one of the first things the dealers will do if there are any future problems is look at the fuel and try to blame any additives.
this is why when i decided to run an additive after they replaced the entire fuel system after mines failure i chose to use only the Mopar diesel fuel additive; sadly, this has alreaady saved me some grief on the latest issue.

I got the Jeep back They replaced the fuel pump, all the injectors, both fuel rails, fuel supply tubes and fuel filter. They washed it which was a bonus but also refilled all my tires to 40psi which was very noticeable ha. Engine seemed OK coming home. Let’s see how it rides over the next few days. Happy to have it back and hopefully with a longer lasting fuel pump.

Are you having another problem with the replaced pump?

There wasn’t a mention of the module being replaced on the invoice and the pump Mopar PN wasn’t new so I think I have the same one. They didn’t ask me anything about my fuel/additive usage but that is something to keep in mind. Thanks for the heads up.

hi!

another problem, yes; still TBD, but i don't think it's the pump itself this time.
(separate thread:
High Idle issue )

it's my understanding this this was also replaced in mine when they replaced the fuel system after my CP4 failure, and IIRC it was while they were doing the tank flush.

Fuel Pump/Level Unit Module Kit

good luck with yours; these things as just so bitchin' to drive when everything is working as it's supposed to!
(how many other vehicles could i wheel for a week in Moab, drive home comfortably across the Dez and over the Sierra in one 16-hour day, and commute to work in traffic the next workday?)

The things most failure prone are water pump, fuel pump, power steering pump, any pump.. and it can occur at any time.

Auto trans pumps are my mortal enemy :)

That pump did not get replaced in mine. This is all they replaced.

I have noticed the idle is a little higher when I first start then when I get to the first traffic light but it is still under 1000rpm. Not sure if this was also the case pre failure or not.

interesting; J**p made the dealer replace all the fuel lines on mine and that in-tank module as well,.. and there's no mention of cleaning out the tank here, which was supposedly a Big Deal.

i wonder if corporate is just trying to find a way to be more cost-effective about dealing with the issue? i'd be curious to know why they were more extensive on the failure a year ago than they are now.
and i wonder what they're going to do for the Recall that they've got out and are supposed to be dealing with next year. guess we'll see!

on a slightly unrelated note, i found the issue with my High Idle, and it wasn't hardware-related at all. the Willys is running like an absolute champ again, reminding me of everything that brought me to love the diesel the first time i drove one.
