Why debate, I use both. Each has their strengths and weaknesses.

I have successfully added passive entry with Jscan. From what I can see in the JSCAN demo within the app, it does appear that you can set up the passive entry with it.
Jscan can lock/unlock front and/or rear differentials independently of each other, with/without the vehicle running. The swaybar disconnect can also be done at anytime, including when the vehicle isn't running.I often use lockers in 4H and the Tazer offers me that option.
Might be time to make that comparison sheet I been telling myself to do ?I have successfully added passive entry with Jscan.

Ok, I'm feeling a bit oblivious here, @Rhinebeck01 - and I'm sure this will be a forehead-smacking, "D'OH!" kinda moment, but...@MRH512
IF you do opt to go with JSCAN, do read all of the pages in this thread.

Take heed the part about not buying Chrylser cables but instead buy a dedicated security gateway bypass module... Also to go with the less expensive VLINKER MC+ rather then the OBDLink MX+ OBD2 Bluetooth Scanner.
So like four minutes of your time to reset everything....You should unmarry the Tazer if you take it in for service. That restores all the factory settings. Problem is then you have to go back and re-enter all your changes once you get it back.
So this is an old thread. The thing with the Tazer, is it is updated often. MAC for updates works without a problem now. There are live features that are available with the Tazer that I use almost everyday. Like brake hold. At a light, long press the brake, and ABS will turn on and lock the brakes at a light, so I don't need to keep my foot on the brake while waiting for the light to turn green. A tap of the gas and the brakes release. Or having winch mode for winching. It hold s the RPMS to 2000 rpms while winching. Or the Sway bar Kill so I can wheel in the desert and run above 19 mph with the sway bars disconnected on my JLUR.Good read, deciding which to buy...
Well the tazer for this build/engine etc was installed as part of the build but I wouldn’t know how to activate and set it up but might have to learn. I’m not very technicalSo this is an old thread. You can map the buttons on the right side of the steering wheel to do many functions too. Like lock the lockers even just lock the front locker, control the radiator fan. disable the ignition, set a pin to start the vehicle, trail turn where is locks up the rear tire in 4low, lightship is available. Probably many more things.
@WillysMeowGood read, deciding which to buy...
I feel like I have low computer tech skills but a willingness to read and learn. If someone thinks they’re going to skim the Tazer instructions and not make mistakes they’re probably going to cause themselves problems and blame other unrelated issues on the Tazer. The instructions, even if read fully, are not always clear and concise. If you read and reread the info here from folks like @Rhinebeck01 and @THAW and watch the Zautomotive youtube videos you can figure it out.@WillysMeow
I am pro Tazer JL... I am pro JSCAN... I am quite savvy in regard to both offerings..
In regard to the Tazer JL ... I tell everyone ...there's lots of responsibility in regard to running a Tazer JL..
There is a hefty learning curve in regard to the Tazer JL.. IF you are not up to speed/have done your homework and are not somewhat of a techy person, then avoid going with the Tazer JL.
Yes, terrific terrific tool the Tazer JL is .... but not every guy and gal is cut out for one so to speak.
They will just cause them and their JL lots of headaches with it,
Reality is most guys don't need all that the Tazer JL offers.
To go with the Tazer JL mainly because your want a hardware adjunct to deal with ESS is a mistake.
You would be better off going with JSCAN, and a SmartStopStart unit to deal with ESS.
I keep mine in the center console just in case I need to clear codes again. It caused too many random electrical glitches in the dash to let it stay connected full time. Here is the link to the instructions for the Tazer.

This will let you know what the taser is capable of doing. I would not off road with out a Tazer. The fact that I can clear codes and get out of limp mode is very important when you are 70 miles from the closest road and then maybe another 100 mile to the closest Jeep dealer to clear a code.
