4.56 seems to be the consensus on the minimum for 37s, but some people go higher to 4.88 or 5.13s. Do some reading of the various threads that are out there about it and see what you think. This is my first JL so I don't have firsthand experience but have read a lot and have dealt with it on other vehicles.

As for setting the right tire size, I always start by using the manufacturer's spec of the tire height. NOT the "named size" but what they list in their spec sheet as the tires actual height. Once I set that, I road test using a GPS app on my phone and the longest stretch of straight, level road I can find to get a consistent speed reading at 55-60 or higher as the speedometer error gets larger the faster you go since it's a percentage. I've always been able to get it spot on but sometimes it takes one or two adjustments. If your speedo reads higher than your GPS, than you need to make the tire size smaller, slower means make it bigger. As long as you're in the ballpark (2-3mph), I doubt you'll notice a significant change in the shifting, but I always aim to be as close as I can.

Thank you!! I will attempt the steps in the process you have recommended.

Thank you!! I will attempt the steps in the process you have recommended.
So I did the steps suggested went to Nitto site and located the actual manufacturer's spec of the tire height and it was in fact different than what I had put in the settings originally. I did the next step as recommended in the Jscan app "Help" on this tire size setting, "Restart all ecus" I also went back and validated the tire size I had updated was still in place and it was, I then went and drove the Jeep on the highway and this made a drastic improvement to the shifting points. I believe at this time I have gotten the best results possible. I am considering the gear change mentioned but at least until I am able to make that change I am in way better shape overall. Thank you!

Awesome, glad it helped! I'm wondering if maybe the first time you changed it if it didn't take... that's why I asked about your speedo accuracy. If you were only off by 2-3mph then that would suggest it just needed fine tuning and wouldn't affect the shifting much at all, but if you were off by 5-6mph or more then I could definitely see that starting to cause drivability issues.

:Question on this thread…I read somewhere, which I can’t seem to find again that firmware upgrades for the Tazer products require a PC and that some features aren’t available on an EcoDiesel model. As a MAC user, the lack of a firmware upgrade path with a MAC is a big problem. I would really like to also know what doesn’t work with the diesel JLUs before putting out the money. Any info is appreciated.

The Tazer update software for Mac was broken for a while. I believe that has been resolved.

From the Tazer JL Mini User Guide. The following does not work with a diesel:

• “Winch XXXX” define Winch Mode RPM (excl. 4XE and Diesel)

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction !! I did see that they “support“ MACos so I‘ll give it a try. Actually gonna start with JScan first to see if that meets my more basic requirements. THanks again !!

When you set in Jscan do you measure actual ride height as it sits with current pressure or you use the Specs for the tire on website? Since tires sag unless you have 60-80psi in it wouldn't you put straight edge level across trees then measure down to ground and use that measurement?

Start with the manufacturer's spec and see where that puts you, then tweak it up or down from there based on a GPS speedometer app and if you're speedo is reading high or low. I've almost always had to make at least one additional adjustment to get it spot on for every vehicle I've adjusted.

If I recall correctly, Jscan only lets you adjust in 0.25" increments, so use whatever is closest to the spec chart as your starting point.

Yes. The app even shows you how to measure tire height that way.
