yeah, that is what i would expect.Just curious what you Rubicon drivers are getting for average MPG? I was driving between San Francisco and Oakland yesterday and averaging 16.1mpg. Stock Rubi.
Shell has one of the best premium fuels available. From my understanding, they don't use any ethanol, so your octane is 91 from actual fuel quality, not boosted by fast burning ethanol.yeah, that is what i would expect.
however, i put 2,500 miles on it this week, and have learned some stuff.
i just tapped 20k miles right before i got home.
lotta folks say premium fuel is wasted on the JL.
i was getting 16.5 on the freeway at 75 mph on cruise control.... then....
i filled up the tank with shell premium. today, i drove from durango, co
to huntington beach, ca nonstop. 825 miles.
at 75~80 mph, depending on ticket risk. it was mostly 80 mph.
milage was 20.8 mpg for entire trip.
range on a full tank went from 325 to 400. you just stopped needing to carry
a 5 gallon can on the back, didn't ya?
what is interesting, is the IMMEDIATE change in milage.
also, i put in some off brand premium, half a tank in, and it immediately crapped back
to 14 mpg for the whole tank. it killed the good gas.
off brand "premium" seems to be stale regular gas.
