That's why my lowest average was 20.74. Took a trip to Columbus and back on that tank. Still perfectly respectable mileage even with what everyone thinks is "800 pounds of dead weight" when the battery was at <1%.
That battery gets heavier every time someone new shows up to complain about it... :CWL:

Trip from Albuquerque via Creede and Stony pass to Silverton then over Ophir pass and Imogene to Engineer then back to Silverton and Albuquerque. Three day trip with camping along the way. 22.1 mpg overall. 21 JLUR diesel on 37 and 3.5 lift. Stock gearing.

I'm not sure that people realize how rock crawling guzzles fuel.

I have a '22 JLUR 6sp with factory 4.88 gears on stock drivetrain. I drive 95% city, 8 miles round trip to work daily, today a couple extra miles because I stopped at the grocery store. Under 7,000 miles in 16 months. New, I could barely break 14 mpg, now that it's broken in a bit I'm averaging around 16mpg summer, 15 mpg winter. A week ago, I took my longest trip, 400 miles round trip. Didn't reset anything, got (I think) about 19.7 mph after the first 200 miles. On the way back, I saw over 20 mpg but still less than 21 mpg. At least that what the digital readout said. I stuck to the speed limits, for the most part.
I have a Sport 6sp ..I'm not surprised by the low mpg in the city you have ...and I generally get 17-18mpg that you get also... however, the highway on mine is higher by quite a bit.. on flat ground @around 65mph I get 27mpg. The readout reads higher but I don't accept it and calculate manually .

4.88 gears make the difference, motor is spinning 40% faster. I really don't pay much attention to mpg, I know it's not going to be good. It's just that someone asked. It's better than my SRT GC got, 13 mpg, at best, and that was premium, lol.

On a side note, I was looking at pricing on the '24 JLs yesterday. I ordered my JL in Dec. '21. Price protected delivery in Mar. '22. If I ordered an identical '24 JL now, it would cost me $5,850 +6% sales tax MORE than I paid for my '22. I priced it 5% below invoice, which is what I paid. The way I see it, with that increased price, gas is free these days. 🤣

Agreed, the pricing is insane..they bumped it up and you still get the same options as you would get on the early models.. just greedy in my opinion

forgot to ask ..do you recall by chance about what RPM you get when you are @65 mph in 6th? with the 4.88 gear?

JLUR 3.6. Auto. Stock. Mix of city and HWY, some idle and some off roading. Light on the skinny pedal. Almost no Start/Stop. Manual mode is your friend.

Jeep Wrangler JL Post pics of your 20+ MPG! (average per tank) m

Around 2,300 rpm. Having the .72 ratio 6th gear helps a lot to keep it reasonable. Also, here at sea level and small hills, I never need to down shift on freeways.

Multiple reasons for the price increases. NA operations had a 16.4% profit margin, highest ever, so greed plays a part.

Inflation plays another. Some raw materials have jumped more than the 17% Inflation increase.

Parts shortage is another, higher shipping costs when there's a break in the supply chain and parts need to be expedited. An example, last week for whatever reason, frames for the Warren Assembly plant weren't arriving by train, they were arriving by truck. 16 frames per truck load. That's needing an expedited truck arriving every 15 minutes to keep the line running. That's gotta be expensive.

Another is fear. They need to finance the switch over to EVs and it's proving to be much costlier than expected. They're also 15 years behind Tesla and 3 vehicle generations behind the Chinese EV automakers, such as BYD. I could probably write pages about how far behind in EV technology they are.

understandable , mine is somewhere under 2000 if i remember correctly . it must be great having a deep first gear every time you pull away after a red light , not much clutch - leg modulation needed.

I've always had the feeling that chrysler is probably further behind on EV than any other manufacturer .. however, I gotta question anything that comes out of China ..lot of these end up in Latin American markets where I have acquaintances and none had anything stellar to say about their products.. in fact they try to avoid them the best they can.

1st is so low, that if I'm rolling AT ALL, I start in second, even, 1/2 mph, like a slight downhill out of a parking lot. 1st is good for about 15 feet, unless you want to rev it up, then about 40 feet, not across an intersection short, lol. I don't like the clutch, flywheel is too light and engagement too vague. It'll get changed soon, just deciding which and who should do it.

I don't see Stellantis bringing anything innovative and cutting edge to market. I could see the Chinese manufacturers doing the same thing the Korean manufacturers did in the late '80's. Bring a $20k ev with 250 miles of range with a best in class warranty.

Also on the quality front, I see how many 4xe and Grand Wagoneer have REAL electrical issues. Now multiply that by 10 with an all electric vehicle

Yes , the clutch is incredibly light . I driven many four cylinder manuals and I have to say the clutch effort is lighter on the JL than almost all of them. Feels like it's mated to a 1.5 liter engine. It definitely took me time to get used to and engagement happens very aggressively barely gives the left leg time to react. I'm afraid of changing the clutch because i've had too many problems with aftermarket parts on wide range of brands but considering the issues chrysler is known for ..its not that bad of a gamble in my opinion

I've had clutches in 150hp-600hp cars, never had to think when starting off. This thing, I either over rev or nearly stall. It's more work than it should be. Last week ACT clutch had a 30% off sale. I hesitated, wanted to decide on a shop for install first, didn't get around to it, just too busy
